Posted 21 hours ago21 hr Administrator No. Since there is no one dominant team out there...I feel that Oregon has as a good as shot as anyone. We have talent and depth, but to me...we still have a ways to go.Our defense can be run on, but the points given up are not that much. But it is not elite...yet? Dante Moore throws a ton of very accurate throws, but misses some that he shouldn't--right?And c'mon...how do you get up for Beavis? But we could be fully ready by the end of the season... Mr. FishDuck
21 hours ago21 hr No. He seemed rattled/out of sorts to start the game like his memories of his last game vs Beavs got into his head too much. I appreciate your assessment! Next week will be a huge test for OBD to pass!
21 hours ago21 hr No. Moore is very good, but there is room for improvement. I’m recalling the short pass to Gary Bryant in the right flat that was thrown much harder than he needed to. Bryant turned, coming out of the break and the ball was there…..and he didn’t catch it. Just a little more touch on that throw and it would have been an easy grab.I am very impressed with Moore. He seems very much in control out there and I think that boosts the confidence of everyone else.
20 hours ago20 hr No. We have a week to go to the Doctor. All in all I think we look pretty good -Run D will improve.
20 hours ago20 hr No. I know the eye test is also a good measure, but statistically our D vs the run is quite good. We held OSU to 2.6 a carry. Take away one run vs the reserves we held NWU to 2.8 a carry. I'm not sure what we want. No one stuffs every run every time.We have a big test coming up vs Penn St. But let's look at this another way, Penn St. has a big test coming up vs OBD. Frankly I haven't been that impressed with Penn St. so far considering their opposition. This will be a big step up in competition for both teams. I'm liking our chances.
20 hours ago20 hr Moderator No. So far, Oregon has done what they were expected to do. The Oklahoma State game was an anomaly. It looked like a great win but the Cowboys showed their true colors last night. Next week will be a great test in a hostile environment. I hope Oregon doesn’t start slow. Playing catch-up in Beaver Stadium is a tall task.
19 hours ago19 hr Moderator No. Natty ready? As in, are we under, or overrated? This is a good team. Always tough to judge how good, against teams where we are favored by 4 to 5 touchdowns. So far, we are not relying heavily on one receiver, or running back. Eight players caught passes today, with Sadiq having the most with four receptions. We ran 45 times, and Limar had the largest load with 12 carries. We were faced with 3rd and long too many times today, and the 3rd down conversion rate was low, based on the quality of the defense we faced.Next week we will get a clearer picture of whether we are a viable contender.
19 hours ago19 hr No. It all comes down to how our two lines play, if they step up their game we can play with just about anyone, if they don't improve we'll struggle against the elite teams. They have to start throwing their weight around and get better with their technique, too many mistakes to survive against the teams that are in the top 15. I'll also be interested to see how our game calling evolves.
17 hours ago17 hr No. I agree with Charles that this team is still very young and has a ton of upside to improve by the end of the year. I was paying very close attention to run defense today and I do have a concern at the linebacker spot and I’m not sure what we can do about it this year. Boettcher plays his heart out and makes a ton of plays, but he misses some, too. And who’s after Boettcher? Jackson is consistently blocked. I watch Boettcher come across the field to make plays on Jackson’s side. Mixon is coming on, but I still see only 2 tackles. If we send Boettcher on a stunt, who cleans up behind him?Overall A for effort, but I’m not sure we have true, natural linebackers. I hope Tosh can coach these guys up.
16 hours ago16 hr Moderator No. The season of roster turnover. Except for ... Clemson?Oklahoma has two good home wins. Miami has three solid wins. FSU has one excellent win over Bama and beatdowns of inferior opponents. Georgia had a gutsy win at Tennessee. Since the FSU embarrassment, Bama has played outstanding football. Indiana's roster, as I and others expected, is improved from last season at quarterback and on both lines of scrimmage. The proof is about to be stirred into the pudding. Next week sees OBD at Penn State, Alabama at Georgia, Ohio State at a UW squad that has looked solid so far, LSU at Ole Miss, Auburn at A&M, and Indiana at Iowa. The SC at the Illinois game has lost much of its big-game luster. UW is 3-0. Both UW and USC will win more than 7.5 games this season and provide Oregon with two ranked opponents to finish the regular season. The following Saturday sees an ACC showdown when Miami goes on the road for the first time this season against Florida State. Clemson and SMU both lost again today. On Saturday, Oregon will play a team with a Blue Chip roster. A team with a top drawer defense, and one that has not put it all together on offense. I expect to see a focused football team that has meandered the last two weeks against teams with nowhere near OBD's talent. After a bye, for both OBD and Indiana, Week 7 sees the Hoosiers in Autzen. Play as well against Iowa as Indiana did today against Illinois, and the Hoosiers could be a top 15 or higher-ranked team. We'll learn a lot about Oregon and other highly ranked teams over the next couple of weeks. The PO Committee's 1st ranking is on 11/4/25. Final ranking on 12/7/25.Neuter the Nits!

I'm a main voter in the Reddit College Football Poll, and I certainly do not have Washington ranked. Or Notre Dame. I do have USC ranked at about 20th, though. The Oregon Ducks? I moved them to #1 for Week 5 after today's results. Penn State stays at #4.
7 hours ago7 hr No. We are not performing well against genuinely weak teams. The Beavs? Montana State? Northwestern? And a somewhat crippled Oklahoma State? There's a real test ahead at Happy Valley. And Indiana is no slouch either, based on how they handled Illinois. Unless our defense can stop the run and our offense can run the ball against strong defensive teams, this is not going to be an easy schedule to navigate successfully.
5 hours ago5 hr No. I think the coaching chess match between PSU and Oregon already started. PSU has been vanilla on offense. I also feel like Oregon gave PSU even less to look at this week than prior weeks. I even think Mixon hardly playing was our attempt to get PSU to forget about him so he can give Allar serious trouble.I feel like this will be a game that if you could repeat it multiple times you could get very different results. We'll play the game and players are going do what they do good or bad. Mistakes from the less experienced players are going to happen. Stein has to bring a plan that can succeed against Knowles' typical approach to suffocating our efficient short game.Lupoi has to do something different to shore up the run defense enough to get PSU off the field. I mean load up the box and force Allar and his WRs to beat our secondary consistently.
5 hours ago5 hr No. Oregon State had 147 yards of total offense. 67 rushing yards. And folks are saying we had poor run defense and need to play better.Hmmmmmm
5 hours ago5 hr No. I think we were all saying the same thing last year before Ohio State. The Ducks stepped up and took out a team that was better than us.Dan might be a master motivator but outside of ok State we haven't seen our Ducks play with their peak intensity yet. Yes, ok State is a very bad team but the Ducks came out ready to dominate them and they did. Haven't quite seen that fire out of them yet.I will say this.... The Oregon offense has looked much better than last year's.

He doesn't have the WRS Sayin has at Ohio State, what QB does, but I will not be surprised if Williams is the better QB in Seattle in Week 6.UW's Jonah Coleman may be the best RB in the conference. Jedd Fisch can coach. He flipped the record at Arizona with a then-unknown QB when no one expected it. UW has played off the radar but has looked good doing so. SC's defense appears to be at least adequate, and how many B1G teams can keep up with SC on the scoreboard? If the weather is decent, I think SC will give Notre Dame all it can handle in South Bend. With the way Illinois played yesterday, SC could still be a close dog on the road at Illinois, and if Notre Dame can keep up scoring-wise when it plays at Arkansas, SC will likely be the underdog on the road at Notre Dame. Perhaps the game at Nebraska will be close, but I expect SC will win, and I also think that SC will defeat both Michigan and Iowa at home. If I am right, SC could travel to Eugene with one or two losses and will be ranked. In addition to Ohio State, UW plays Rutgers, Illinois, and Purdue at home before Week 14, when UW plays OBD in Seattle, and plays Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, and UCLA on the road. That's seven winnable games post-Ohio State and before OBD. If UW is not blown out by TOSU, and the game in Ann Arbor is a close loss, I think UW will be ranked.SC and UW, I grant you are as of today B1G Ifs.As to the Committee's rankings in Week 11 and Week 13, many of the currently ranked SEC teams will have three or more losses. The SEC SOS was dinged yesterday by Florida's loss to ACC Miami and Arkansas losing to G6 Memphis. Wins against Florida by LSU, Texas, and Georgia will not be sterling wins.Today, the ACC has Miami, FSU, Louisville, and Georgia Tech in the rankings race. I expect one of these four, if not two, will not finish ranked. The B12? The Fine Young B12 teams are having at it. Utah looked bad, getting blown out at home by Texas Tech. I'm happy to make The Dukes' Trading Places Wager, One Dollar! 😁

Or even halfway.AMEN! Winning college football games is not easy. Even teams with poor rosters have rosters that would result in high school titles playing in the toughest high school conferences. OBD, No. 1 in the PO Committee's final 2024 ranking, is definitely one of the most hunted teams. And with Uncle Phil's role in the forefront of CFB coverage, and the weekly uni fashion show, one of the most hated. Oregon State was fired up to beat the team that, in the opinion of many Beavis fans, screwed OSU. OSU scored on a coverage bust, and that's all, folks. Montana State and OK State were swept aside in Eugene. OBD TCB'd against a P4 team on the road with a 9 AM body clock time start. On the road, close to every player who traveled played. Dan is not leaving the starters in to run it up or help Dante with Heisman stats. And, this team has not been immune to injury.Criticism, especially with the players bringing in a nice chunk of change, is fine. But no team based on talent alone will brush aside every opponent. Ask the good folks in Clemson, SC. The rubber hits the road this Saturday in Beaver (!) Stadium, and then two Saturdays later, when the Hoosiers visit Autzen. Put a Fork in the Franklins!
1 hour ago1 hr No. Ive watched a lot of football this year and a lot of replay games on YouTube in the off season. Very few teams play perfect football on any side of the ball for any set of downs.

1 hour ago1 hr No. I watched the Apple Cup last night and the announcers sickened me with their constant praise of the Huskies. They proclaimed the Husky running back to be the best in college football several times. Then the claimed their QB to be the future of college football. Gag.

But Jonah Colman could be the best RB in the B1G, and Williams is a capable QB. This Saturday, I will not be surprised to see Williams play as well or better than TOSU's Julian Sayin.
