FishDuck Article Administrator No. 1 Share Posted November 13, 2021 Whenever we play the Cougars, I think of how fan bases really share the common hate of the Huskies. However it does not matter when both are vying for the crown of the division and the conference, and thus we focus upon our key match-up. Yet I cannot forget the best title to a FishDuck article against WSU ever years ... Read the full article here... HappyToBeADuck No. 4 Share Posted November 13, 2021 Well done 30duck........ Hope this is the first of the next 6 games that this gelling defense causes extreme chaos for the Duck opponent. Turnovers by the Cougars are why they are only averaging around 25 points a game. Let's go D, get after these guys. A dominant, turnover causing Oregon D can take this team to the promised land. As long as the bone heads on offense stop the self inflicted penalties. Don't just limit them, stop them..... It's game 10 of the season..... Go Ducks 1-0 Is it tonight, yet? Washington Waddler Moderator No. 5 Share Posted November 13, 2021 WSU’s challenging short passes and run game will be faced with a Duck D that appears to be gelling. Should be interesting.
DuckPhan19 No. 6 Share Posted November 13, 2021 DeRuyter faced WSU three times as Cal’s DC and yielded 3 points in 2017, his first year as Cal’s DC; 19 in 2018; and 20 in 2019, for an average of 14 points. Versatile, athletic linebackers are key to stopping the air raid, and I think we have that. I think Noah Sewell gets his hands on some balls. Ducks 34-17. latracey No. 7 Share Posted November 13, 2021 (edited) From what I've seen so far this season, Oregon's defense has been vulnerable to quarterbacks with a quick release, slant passes, short passes in the flats, and the occasional run by a quality running back. WSU seems to have everything needed to rain on Oregon's parade tonight, and Lord knows they will definitely be motivated to do so. This is their Super Bowl. Historically, DeRuyter seems to have WSU's number, but remember that every single game combines new variables specific to that game's situation. For instance, who is tonight's officiating crew and what effect will they play on tonight's game? It's another Moment of Truth for our Ducks. If they hope to be in the CFP, they need to prove that they have the motivation, discipline, and skill to make it happen. Vandownbytheriverduck No. 9 Share Posted November 13, 2021 The X factor with the Ducks is health which has led to inconsistent lineups and multiple position changes. Does the defense take another step today with a more consistent lineup? They are either getting better or getting worse. Nobody stays the same. Vandownbytheriverduck No. 24 Share Posted November 14, 2021 Love the resilience not giving up a TD after the long play. AB looking decisive and protecting the football. His ability on the read option and 230lbs is a real asset. The Dye name at Oregon, forever
