Whenever we play the Cougars, I think of how fan bases really share the common hate of the Huskies. However it does not matter when both are vying for the crown of the division and the conference, and thus we focus upon our key match-up. Yet I cannot forget the best title to a FishDuck article against WSU ever years ...

"Call DeRuyter, that's the name, and away go troubles down the drain, go DeRuyter!"

Well done 30duck........

Hope this is the first of the next 6 games that this gelling defense causes extreme chaos for the Duck opponent.

Turnovers by the Cougars are why they are only averaging around 25 points a game. Let's go D, get after these guys.

A dominant, turnover causing Oregon D can take this team to the promised land. As long as the bone heads on offense stop the self inflicted penalties. Don't just limit them, stop them.....

It's game 10 of the season.....

Go Ducks 1-0

Is it tonight, yet?

WSU’s challenging short passes and run game will be faced with a Duck D that appears to be gelling. Should be interesting.

DeRuyter faced WSU three times as Cal’s DC and yielded 3 points in 2017, his first year as Cal’s DC; 19 in 2018; and 20 in 2019, for an average of 14 points. Versatile, athletic linebackers are key to stopping the air raid, and I think we have that. I think Noah Sewell gets his hands on some balls. Ducks 34-17.

From what I've seen so far this season, Oregon's defense has been vulnerable to quarterbacks with a quick release, slant passes, short passes in the flats, and the occasional run by a quality running back. WSU seems to have everything needed to rain on Oregon's parade tonight, and Lord knows they will definitely be motivated to do so. This is their Super Bowl.

Historically, DeRuyter seems to have WSU's number, but remember that every single game combines new variables specific to that game's situation. For instance, who is tonight's officiating crew and what effect will they play on tonight's game? It's another Moment of Truth for our Ducks. If they hope to be in the CFP, they need to prove that they have the motivation, discipline, and skill to make it happen.

Baylor 17 Oklahoma 7 with 12+ minutes left.

The X factor with the Ducks is health which has led to inconsistent lineups and multiple position changes.

Does the defense take another step today with a more consistent lineup?

They are either getting better or getting worse. Nobody stays the same.

Payback for Cameron Colvin!

Man that looked like a bad spot on that 3rd down pass catch. Cristobal never seems to want to challenge.

It sure looked like that was a first down

I agree, looks like the receiver came down with a first down.

TD Dye, with a major assist by AB on that drive.

Ducks looking good so far!!

i would like to change my turnover prediction to 27

seriously, can we just run a play and not clap and look at the sideline?!

I would like to change my score prediction too.

I guess the guys want to take care of business tonight

Noticed that Kieth Brown was playing that series. Does anyone know if Bassa got hurt?

I missed start of game so ESPN could play Ole Miss garbage time

Love the resilience not giving up a TD after the long play.
AB looking decisive and protecting the football.
His ability on the read option and 230lbs is a real asset.
The Dye name at Oregon, forever

But they just can't bury a team when it's easy.

I just don't understand the point of throwing for 1 yard when you need 9 and the receiver is well covered

Best all around play I have seen from this team. D looks really good.

That pass to Dye was a dead Duck waiting to happen.  AB doesn’t see the defenders well.

Oh well.

This Defense has gotten stingy the past few weeks.

Anyone else bored by this game?

Not bored.  Worried.  Is Bassa playing?

Heard Bassa’s name called.

Not really bored but it does seem a bit predictable.

Same old story. Ducks show flashes of brilliance and then all of a sudden they look horrible on offense for three possessions in a row.

The most mystifying team in the history of the program.

My next prediction is Wazzu scores a touchdown here before half.

Yep, wish I could say I was wrong but yet another melt down.

Anyone else yelling at the tv with all the obvious holds WSU is getting away with?

I can't remember more close games being played at home.  Sad.  Subpar playcalling across the board.  Both Moorhead and DeRuyter better make some halftime adjustments.

Dye fumble.  Sewell missed tackle.   Changed the momentum at the end of first half.

Here we go again.

They got away with two huge holds on the corner on a 2nd and 18 screen to Borghi. It was obvious and not just one but two holds on the same play.

Game on.

No.  Easy to call penalties on the other team.  It's really about the Ducks, not the refs.

Just a little iron sharpening.

It baffles me how AB continues to throw the ball short of 1st down marker on 3rd down.

Not I, he doesn't want to throw it down field for fear of an interception or incompletions.
