Moore was not good until that last drive. Credit where credit is due, he got it done when it counted most.

They found a way, but that last defensive play will absolutely drive me insane that we had 4 in the box against a running QB!

A win in a tough environment on the road against a very good team. Kickers and special teams were not a weakness. Some key absences and injuries, but found a way.

Looked like Dante is having some nagging injuries. Hope he's better by the Washington game!!!

I dont know if this was the best Oregon game or the worst Oregon game Ive ever seen.

Hard to overlook Whitingtons play.

Guy was a beast.

If someone can please explain why we constantly see one or two Oregon defenders standing in no man's land and defending nobody I would be very happy.

Whittington was outstanding, all the RBs were amazing. Wish we would have let one of them run the ball instead of Moore on that second to last drive!

Heck of a game by the green and yellow team! Won in spite of playing against 11 in black and gold teamed up with 5 in black and white stripes.

5 penalties for 57 yards against OBD, 1 penalty for zero yards against Iowa? wth???

The snap in Their final TD was snapped at least a half second after the play clock ran out. They even showed it on replay, and the snap was unquestionably after the zero came up.

A win is a win, but my blood pressure can’t keep taking this abuse!

Question: How did Iowa not have one penalty other than the illegal kick? How is that possible in a game like this? Someone really has to look at these refs. If Iowa had 2 or even one penalty I could take it, but NONE!?

The 1 thing I hope they get better at is... run defense. They are pretty good most plays, but still need to get better.

No injuries for Oregon on the D line and linebackers (except 44 was out for a short time). DE/edge should be more dominant.

Or maybe it was scheme? Could have put in another DT and taken out the nickel back? (Just for this game)

Best part of the game was the last drive - just under 2 minutes to get in position for a game winning field goal. That part was solid.

Since we are also talking about officiating: Did anyone else see a missed grounding call on Iowa late in the game? I don't think that ball made it to the line of scrimmage. But I could have been looking at the yard marker on the other side of the 50.

Considering the weather conditions, I think Moore played a great game. His two best receivers were not in uniform! He made crucial decisions to run the ball himself, and those decisions made the difference in the last TD. His passing on the winning field goal drive was as good as it gets.

Yeah I saw it, there was a receiver like 10 yards away, but I was questioning it. I thought at the end of the drive you could have called it as well since there was no receiver in the endzone when he threw it out of the endzone.

It really seemed like the refs had an agenda. I keep thinking how disappointed the ref looked when he announced the fumble that went to us. For that matter why did we have to call a timeout to get it reviewed? We literally did not receive one call the entire game, I don't think I'm forgetting something.

The Defense shouldn't be expected to carry this team. Our Offensive firepower has simply failed to live up to expectations. This is not a formula for success. Something needs to change.

He seems to be getting much better at escaping pressure and looking downfield for targets than he was earlier in the season.

Washington is down by three. Wisconsin has almost tripled their B1G average of 5.5 ppg with 13 points. Indiana was a missed toe drag away from losing to a Penn State squad that has a backup QB, interim coach, and zero P4 wins. November is where the contenders win, and with the playoff system in place, you will still be in contention.

Anybody who misses the old system where a writer could determine the champion, a computer would pick the two best participants, or a group of people would pick four teams based off some unknown list of qualities, has to see some positives in at least getting a shot right? If Oregon wins out, they become legendary in Eugene lore. Last year Ohio State fans went from thinking that was the worst season ever, to saying it was a legendary run.

It's snowing in Madison now btw. Washington is driving down by three. Their playoff hopes are on the line. It's an important game because it has playoff implications.

If Washington loses, the game against Oregon becomes just a spoiler. But if they win? That's a playoff game for both teams imo.

Very true. But, a really strong playoff team would have stopped Iowa on their last drive. Ducks made so many great plays on D, but totally missed out on turning the ball over on downs on that drive.

I still think Oregon is a playoff team. But just barely a playoff team and not a favorite to win it all.

The refs always had rain in their eyes when Iowa was holding, like on every other play.

Herbstreit was darn near perfect in his prediction on College Gameday. He even had the fact that one team would have 15 points. However, he picked the wrong team to win. Oregon is definitely now a B1G team with that offensive performance.

My high school coach at Marshfield, Pete Susick told us back in the mid 1950’s: “When the officials are against us, we have to beat them too.” And we did! Attitude is everything.

My parents asked why the review was taking so long and I said they were on the phone with vegas looking for a big enough bidder to uphold a blatant fumble as not a fumble.

I'll rewind and say that drive had several bad defensive plays. 3 and long and Iowa gets a long pass.

Fourth down and they get another long pass.

Yeah that lady play stings as it resulted in points but that drive should have ended long before that play.

I was preparing myself for disappointment the entire game. When we made the field goal it was like everything went silent and the earth stood still.

I'd be just fine if we never played Iowa again. Their style is high risk season wrecker style of ball. They don't care if they win that much as long as they at least have a chance of winning late, and any time you can have a low scoring game you have a puncher's chance.

Screw them. That could have ended our bid for the playoffs.

I mean, we beat them at their own game, but I don't want to play that game, you know?

I'll be a million times happier watching us play our last 3 games.

Considering the weather......take the win and thank our lucky stars.......and don't take much of a message from the performance.

Try standing out in a chilly rain for two hours much less 3 and perform.

As for the playoffs......beat USC first and then remember by the playoffs most injuries will be healed and our QB will be finally relaxed....getting the UCLA misery of having folks in his face every play. That pass at the end was a work of true talent....right on the money in a very small target for distance.

Minnesota next Friday evening at Autzen. Iowa beat them 41-03. GO DUCKS!

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but with no Bryant, Sadiq or Moore we are Iowa with a better punter. Now we get a short week against another team coming off a bye. I see a trap game against Minnesota. Our defense will soon buckle under the pressure of carrying the offense on their back.

I thought we were better than what the score indicated, I just think we had some questionable play calling here and there, there was also the play where Iuli stepped on Moore's foot, that looked like it was going to be a TD or at least a first down, we basically did whatever we wanted in the ground game, but we would eventually shoot ourselves in the foot.

It was just one of those games where it was always going to be difficult. Refs affected the game as well, multiple calls that prolonged drives for Iowa or stopped us, it was noticeable.

I would say we aren't a top 5 team, and I don't think we're really a contender for the national title. Too much inconsistencies in our QB play, our line play, and our LBs are little bit limited for what you expect out of a team that wins a title. Need more pressure on the QB, need to be more consistently stout in the run D.

USC and Washington are the games where I really have no idea what Oregon team is going to show up. USC can score but can't defend, and UW is decent at home, rivalry game, weather could be bad.

When our QB passes right between the numbers of receivers who are replacing our injured starters, and the drop ends a drive, that is not the fault of the Quarterback. Without Dakorien and Sadiq, Dante was playing with one arm tied behind his back. OBD overcame some major hurdles to bring home the win. They deserve our praise!

Having re-watched the 4th Q and the Iowa FG kicker making a career-long 58-yard FG in the driving rain, OBD D players being mugged all game with 0 holding penalties called, the offense out-rushing smash-mouth Iowa, a stellar Ducks run D, stud starters on the bench, and more, lost in-game?

No worries. OBD's FG kicker mans up in brutal conditions and under max pressure and seals the deal? I haven't watched this movie before.

This is one of the guttiest wins I've ever seen in seven decades of watching CFB.

One that comes close was the Rose Bowl in 1966, when DB Bob Stiles overcame two knockout punches and was knocked out for the third time when making a game-saving tackle in UCLA's huge upset over Michigan State. (Yes, younger fans, this was once the norm. The concussion protocol was a coach throwing a bucket of water in your face. 🤪)

This is exactly the kind of game that Kirk Ferentz and Iowa do not lose in November.

And the win at Penn State, as the Nits showed against the Hoosiers today, was not a nothing-burger win. PSU and Iowa were road games that the majority of the top 25 teams would have lost. And Dan and his assistants are doing this with 14 new starters and subs starting for the new starters? And diaper dandies on display?

That was a great win. Overcame tough Iowa team , tough environment, terrible weather, lack of offensi starters and the freaking officiating 1 penalty the entire game for Iowa. how is that possible ?!

Add the questionable calls against OBD and it’s amazing they prevailed

No...

From what I've seen these injuries emerged from this last week of practice.

Dak had a non-contact injury which sucks but they happen sometimes.

Harley with a twisted ankle... They also happen not sure there's much a S&C coach can do to prevent that from happening.

Sadiq apparently was begging to play today but from a health perspective they said no. He's been dinged up but from the sound of it he's played through it.

I saw too many and I haven't sat down to study the film.

They were also super generous with all the short yardage gains for a first down for Iowa.

That fourth down pile didn't look like he made it... But they gave it..

And there was another tackle on a RB in there that he might have barely gotten the line to gain but they placed the ball an extra yard for him.

Feels like we are certainly on the outside of the conference still.

Calling that two feet out of bounds two point conversion good was the worst call I've ever seen. Even in real time, he was clearly out of bounds.

I only saw bits and pieces of the the game. From what I saw, our offense is leaving full meals on their plate. What a waste of a dominant running game!

QB Moore plays way better when the game is on the line. Night and Day difference. I realize OBD are down #s 1 and 2, but guys are open. I love Will Stein, and I want to see more simple routes (like the out route on the last drive) for Moore when he is struggling. Those screens are a waste of time in my opinion ( just run a RB screen instead).

Stein can't exploit that dominant running game. I can't wait to see the entire game. I want to know how many TDs were missed. So far, against elite defenses, OBD are not scoring 20 points. If they can solve the passing conundrums, we're looking at an intriguing team.
