Yesterday at 03:50 AM1 day No. It's a blackout.Oregon is going with the all black look versus USC this Saturday. Although I have been a little thrown off by the excessive use of black this season, I must admit, I always love the all black combo. The green lids are a nice touch imo, and I like the all black wings. All in all, not my favorite combination ever, but I like it. What do you guys think?
Yesterday at 04:07 AM1 day Administrator No. I think we have worn black too many times this season; it is no longer special. And a crowd wearing black will not show up well on TV... Mr. FishDuck
Yesterday at 05:30 AM1 day No. And pass receivers wearing black will not show up very well while racing away from a quarterback searching for them through the upraised arms of onrushing defenders. When will the uniform gurus realize that because black does not reflect light it’s difficult to see?Maybe it will make for more interceptions.
Yesterday at 05:31 AM1 day No. In a word, no. I loved the old 'midnight green' look. But this is not good. An all dark green theme would have been great. Or if the jersey and pants matched the helmet - green with black trim, that would have worked as well. Or if they insist on the black look, then take the green off the helmet and make it silver. OK, black jersey, silver helmet and silver pants - at least that would look coordinated, even if no where near team colors. But I could be totally wrong -what matters is what it looks like on the field.
Yesterday at 05:51 AM1 day No. As a stand alone.... Yeah they look cool. But this is game 6 we have worn black with only green or yellow as an accent color and not the main event. In exhausted of it.
Yesterday at 05:56 AM1 day No. Final thought: Still not nearly as bad as those orange socks look (match the mascot). Second worst was the eggshell. Maybe the old 'antifreeze' helmets would go with the all black look? And antifreeze pants? I would dig that. And antifreeze numbers on the black jerseys. Black wings on the antifreeze helmets and a black stripe (or huge swoosh) on the antifreeze pants. Or an antifreeze swoosh on the black pants? I would love to see that combo.
Yesterday at 09:22 AM1 day No. I am hesitant to admit this, but I am totally weary of uniform-reveal-Wednesday. I seldom am thrilled with the choice. But my opinion matters little. Apparently the players love it, so...it is what it is.I remember the first black uniforms, against USuC years ago on Halloween weekend I think. When the team came out of the tunnel the fans went crazy!I was there. It was amazing. Here's hoping that these black uni's bring back those good vibes and we crush the condoms!
Yesterday at 01:15 PM1 day Moderator No. It's pretty much the same uniform they wore in the B1G CG. I know everybody expected them to break out the Ohana uniforms since they are selling that gear online for this game. However, they've already broken out the special event uniform for the year against Beavis. I'm not worried too much about black uniforms against a black clad crowd. It worked against Ohio State, but there was also enough red in the crowd to create a good amount of contrast.

I know the changing uniforms is part of Oregon's DNA and appeals to the players and I'm all in favor of that. But with all the technology that goes into developing athletic apparel today you would think the role of color, as Grandpa Duck pointed out, might be turned into a competitive advantage, rather than just treated as a fashion statement.

The only way this could be an issue is if the backdrop of the walls around Autzen are also black, and even then, I just don't see it being an issue. At the very most, the top portion of a player's helmet MAY blend into the crowd, and that's only if they're running a shorter route. It's not like Dante is sitting on the turf when he makes a throw.Like most everyone here seems to be, I'm also bored of the black. I miss nightmare green so much.
Yesterday at 03:51 PM1 day No. Well maybe the USC players will not see them as well either. The Ducks will be flying in stealth mode.FWIW uni color won't matter when running the ball. The game will be played in the bright afternoon sun.
Yesterday at 04:19 PM1 day No. Personally, I loved our uniform combo at the B1G Championship game last year. This is basically the same thing with the winged helmets instead of the "O". I have zero problem with it whatsoever. I do, however, wish we didn't overuse the black combos earlier in the season. Rolling this out for USC only would have been 🔥🔥🔥. DanLDuck brought up the uniform-reveal Wednesdays running out of steam. I'd have to say I agree. The athletic department already puts out the fan color-scheme before the season starts. It would be awesome to go back to the days of the reveal being when they do the walk-out at the Mo!

Yesterday at 04:54 PM1 day No. Love the Uni's they are wearing Sat. These Uni's will make SC's look like very old school and out of date, not cutting edge, or not state of the art. Youngsters need the sizzle, not plain. Dont ever underestimate ART of recruiting.

You want to be seen on the road. The guy replied to me that studies have shown that black is easier to see during the day. There are fewer accidents with black bike clothing than any other color. On a sunny day, black is easy to see.

Now all we need is to find that black with green accents is the most visible combination possible!Go Ducks!
15 hours ago15 hr No. Jon Sousa the salesman lied to you. Hope you didn't buy the black clothing. You should wonder why school busses are yellow and highway construction workers wear yellow or orange. I suggest that you google this: "In daylight is a yellow object more visible than a black object?"Here's the response: "Yes, in daylight, a yellow object is more visible than a black one. Yellow is highly eye-catching and one of the most visible colors to the human eye, especially under daylight conditions, which is why it is used for safety equipment and school buses. A black object is less visible because it absorbs most wavelengths of light, whereas a yellow object reflects yellow light, making it stand out against most backgrounds."So our QB's can see receivers wearing yellow more easily than when they wear black. Amazingly the next most visible color - green.

4 hours ago4 hr No. I'm tired of so much black, but I must say, they do look bad as.However, like most of us around here, I love Oregon's green and yellow and would sure like to see more of it.But, at the end of the day, all I really care about is what do young recruits, and our players, like.
