I'm Not Nervous About the Peach Bowl

Featured Replies

I'm not nervous about the Peach bowl. Not because I don't think we can lose, but because I don't mind if we lose.

There are fans for 128 team sitting at home, with their season over. I'm grateful to see our team get to play one more time.

If this was basketball, we'd be saying "final four" non stop.

I'm grateful that we are the 2nd best rated team in the country by power rankings at the end of the season and in the final four despite having the closest thing to a rebuild we'll ever have in the current era of Dan Lanning, NIL and the portal.

We made it one level deeper into the playoffs than last year, which always feels like progress.

We are playing with house money at this point, so instead of being nervous and worrying, I'm just going to enjoy watching the game, win or lose.

I will admit I am nervous. I predicted a DUCK win in Mr. FishDucks prediction thread but after this tough week with our running backs, I am concerned. GO DUCKS!

Been thinking the same thing…pretty nifty “rebuilding year”.

Optimistic though; this young team was toe to toe with Indiana last time….and they have had allot more room for growth than the already very matured Indiana. We’ve seen the matchups and are driven to change (they are not).

It “feels” like a trap game for Indiana….especially the over the top hype. I’ve never seen a team withstand a media love fest like this without dropping one. Indiana is ripe for the upset.….

No.

Indeed. I thought we’d be 10-2 with a home playoff win, so this is all gravy to me.

That being said, we’re a very talented team being told we can’t win. Shades of Colorado “playing for clicks” type of focus? I can hope.

No.

I'm sure the coach will have them motivated, but we have to cut down the little mistakes.

I just don't want to hear Cig arrogantly say "I just win" again.

No.

I hear you but it’ll be painful to watch Mario (Miami) or Cig (Indiana) host the championship trophy instead of Lanning (Oregon). Oregon has been building for this moment longer.

This is what I can't get over, it's my nightmare, either Cristobal wins one before us, or Indiana just waltzes in like it's nothing and wins one on their first actual go. IT CAN NOT HAPPEN, we deserve this, we as a school, program, fanbase deserve this so much more than anyone else in the country when it comes to heartbreak. Nobody has had as many close calls as us during this century without winning a championship.

I know I'm putting this on myself, I've tried to just shrug it off, but I can't get over the idea. The world is a tough place, you don't get what you deserve most of the time, but my gosh we deserve at least one.

This team met, and then surpassed my expectations for this year. They might as well win, and be in the spotlight for another 10 days.

Because of the venue, and no weather to worry about, it will be a showcase for both QBs.

Many favored teams have already fallen, let’s make it one more.

But but, Cinderella is going to get the calls. Must play smart. It'll probably come down to turnovers.

Or FG's...

And Barkrat fans will be saying "Yeah, F That Guy!" about Sappington, LOL!

Phil Knight deserves a championship.

As a fan, I would love to see them hoist the trophy.

I'm very proud of this team. It hurts when we lose so close to the ultimate goal.

I just want to them to play hard. That's it.

No.

Mike West,

It's not enough to play hard. Don't we want OBDs to play smart and savvy ball? We do!

Remember when the Miami QB played smart and savvy on Miami's last drive against Ole Miss, and Miami was near the goal line? The Miami QB ran against the flow and grain in the direction our Ducks QB (Moore) should have been running in the Orange Bowl while both teams (Ducks and TT) were clogging up our right side/their left side of the field when we were on the two-yard line trying to score. Play savvy and smart!

VR,

KCDuck1
Win Ducks, Win! Make us proud! Pour some cold water on Cig's head. Regardless, hold your heads high and your shoulders back!

I mind if we lose, but we've seen this movie before, and the world didn't end.

I'm hoping I enjoy watching the game. If it ends like either the Fiesta Bowl or the FCS title game, then I will enjoy the game, win or lose. A bad showing and I won't enjoy the game, unless the red team has that showing.

Two "hopes": 1) That I will want to watch the post-game shows; 2) We end a streak (0-11) of having lost to the No. 1 team.

For the first time, I predicted an OBD loss tonight. I know, I know - I am so crossing my fingers and toes that I will be wrong. But... the loss of RBs really concerns me, because it takes out the best game we had in our last matchup. So we can't even tell WS to call smart plays and run the ball to save Dante from getting sacks!

It will really be up to the coaches and players to play a more-than-perfect game to win tonight, unless the Hoosiers are sleep-walking, which I am still thinking they may because are new to this.

So many negatives have stacked up against the Ducks this past week I'm convinced that it has given Lanning the material for his all time motivational speech ever. Yes I'm entertained and worried and way too excited.

Ohio St played like the favorite much like the Ducks the first time, messed around and found out. They could have tied the game late with a field goal but like the Ducks, foolishly gambled on 4th down, went for it and failed, losing by three. Today the Ducks will be dangerous underdogs. That's not Indiana's wheel house.

I think the Ducks get it done today.

No.

I will say that I felt a lot more nervous last year, and the other years we were in playoff, I think it's because I don't think we will win, all the previous disappointments have helped me to just expect the worst this year, I'm already bracing for the loss. I guess it's a coping mechanism at this point.

After OBD defeats Indiana, I hope Coach Lanning insists on the higher-seeded team using the Miami Dolphins' home locker room. 😁

Ooops! 🤬

Im glad you guys aren't nervous, wish I could say the same.😬

Go Ducks

I know there are reasons behind it, but a big game from the WR group seems almost a necessity.

WRs only (first 7 games):

12.6 catches per game

175.3 yards per game

11 TDs

WRs only (last 7 games):

8.9 catches per game

124.1 yards per game

5 TDs

In the first game abandonment of the run was the downfall of this team. 2 if not 3 RBs is enough not to abandon the run game and try for the air raid type game.

Harris and Hill are more than capable of carrying the load if Noah can go even better. This team is at it's best when they run the ball.

No.

My son is at the game and just sent me a picture of NW in uniform and warming up.

Let's hope he is a go!

He said it is a sea of red in the stands. Petfect night for OBD's to pull the upset.

So I was on the field with the team & marching band in 1987 holding my Colorguard flag when Bill Byrne told us we'd be going to the Independence Bowl but it wasn't official ... and we weren't invited. Until the next year (I wasn't in band anymore so I didn't get to freeze my 🤍 off). Anyway this is my way of saying we've waited a long long long long time to win a Natty, hope it's this year but agreed this was a HECK of a rebuilding year!

I am nervous. Im not gonna lie. I had to pour a brown water before starting this one.

But for me, after 52 years as a Duck fan, it's an NC or bust.

I’m off to Kauai and seriously rethinking how much time I’m dedicating to this sport in the future. A program like Indiana can achieve our decades long goal in 2 years, I’m might be done.

  3. Ducks were defeated before they hit the field…then were competitive…then..showed what happens when your 3-5 string backs have no reps.

  4. F’ Idiana and their bull’ narrative.

  5. Mario will break them…low IQ phalinx style

I guess I wasn't be honest with myself.

This loss really bothered me. I was willing to take the L with a smile if we were competitive, but we gifted them 28 points. It's hard not to let that piss you off.
