  1. IMHO, that is why USuC left the PAC. They are tired of being dominated by their northern neighbors. The extra $$ just made it easier to explain. I hope they never see another Rose Bowl!
  2. Totally agree Haywarduck! He says it all when he said, “When you hit someone enough times, they don’t want to tackle you anymore.” Love the attitude! He has a shot at some Duck RB records!
  3. Thank you Charles for the work that went into the article. Well written and gives the perspective of time. IMHO, I have to wonder what impact PK and the swoosh have had over the last couple decades in rebranding UO into The O, a nationally recognized brand all unto itself. For the incoming freshman class, The O has been a winning brand most of their lives, in football, track & field, MBB, WBB, and even had a Natty in Golf. Could it be that the Ducks of Oregon have slowly but surely become a Destination?
  4. Awesome! Thanks Annie! Go Ducks!
  5. “There’s nothing like playing in Autzen stadium in front of the best fans in college football… There’s nothing line being an Oregon Duck!” Pretty high praise from a former Auburn Tiger who has played in most of the SEC stadiums! Welcome back Bo, I hope you light it up and have your best season yet!
  6. Is anyone else worried about the fact that Saban suspended him from the team? What for? On field antics or off field antics? This may not be the good thing we hope it is…
  7. Great article Alex, one that is generating even greater discussion, thanks! I agreed with the points you made as well as the outstanding comments above. However, the question is not really about can we trust DL, because, as mentioned above, not only do we have no choice, our trust makes no difference. The question should be do we have confidence in DL? All of the comments I am reading points to a resounding yes, for a multitude of well articulated reasons (see above). As a long-time Duck homer, I am fully confident DL can and will continue to get better. (He is too young and too capable not to.). For the same reasons, I also believe his in-game coaching will continue to improve. I am confident we will see a 10-2 or 11-1 season next year. But I will also say that I will continue to root for OBD and their coaches even if they face-plant into a 2-10 season.
  8. Nice article David, thank you. I respectfully disagree that the Oregon Defense failed this year. 9 and 3 are not really failure numbers. Colorado’s defense failed. Stanford and ASU, failed. I agree that the Duck Defense failed in the last quarter of the last game. They were completely unable to slow down the Beaver running game. They failed to slow Georgia’s offense and they failed to throttle the mutts, but they didn’t fail in the other 9 games. Oregon’s could have (and should have) been better, yes. Failure, not in my book. Maybe I am just too much of a Duck Homer.
  9. Kind of makes sense, all 3 of our losses were to better defenses. We only managed to out score the #1 PAC 12 defense because our defense played above their norm.
  10. The transfer portal is part of college football and the coaches who use it effectively will win more games than those who don’t. IMHO. I trust DL & Company to use it effectively. They did last season, I see no reason to assume they would do differently this season. Go Ducks.
  11. “Zachary Neel: Mariota striking the Heisman pose mid-air during a touchdown run against the Oregon State Beavers. Priceless“ I seem to remember Marcus getting tackled right after hitting the ground. I don’t recall the Heisman-pose jump over the Beaver play ending in a TD.
  12. Charles, as one who has been gently reminded to be nice, I certainly am glad to hear we trolls have not beaten you down. This is YOUR forum, your house and your rules. If we can’t play nice, we should expect to be sent home! Your time, effort, and FANATICISM all played a part in you designing and maintaining the OBD Forum with Decorum that so many of us look forward to getting our daily Duck fix. I thank you again, for letting us play in your playground. Oh, btw, Mrs. PittDuck thanks you as well, and hopes you don’t let the negativity get you down.
  13. My sentiments exactly 12Duck72, and you said it much more eloquently than I can seem to say it. Thank you.
  14. I hope we learn from this and get our back up QB some playing time. I like the idea posted earlier of having the backup go for two on each TD. Regular opportunities to polish skills!
  15. Wonder how many $$$ this just cost the PAC12?
  16. 46 24 Utes 1:52 on the clock!
  17. I thought it might be best record, the Utes certainly earned a trip to the RB!
  18. 40 - 24 Utes 5:29 minutes left in the 4th Q
  19. And the PAC 12 is out of the Natty Race… Did USuC just lose their way into the Rose Bowl?
  20. I wonder how many of us would have jumped at the opportunity to more than triple our income, with who knows how much of it guaranteed? IMHO I think it is more like “strike while the iron is hot!”
  21. I really feel we are becoming more well known for losing a game or two each year to a team we should have beaten. it feels like every year we drop one or two to a team that is inferior (either roster or W/L record) that we had no business losing to. Great Teams win the games they are supposed to. Oregon is not a Great Team yet.
  22. Unfortunately, if DL doesn’t hit a home run with his next OC, he could become another Scott Frost situation…
  23. Felt to me like like he was outa there before the third quarter ended…
  24. It appeared to me that JS and the Beavers just wanted it more. Their offense out played our offense in the end. The Ducks may have won the middle 8, but the Beavers took it to us in the last 12. I am bummed, but not blaming it on the coaches, the defense, special teams, or offense. As much as it was a team loss, it was a team win for the Beavs. For me, losing to the dawgs and the beavers by 3 points each was sickening, and getting blown out by the DAWGS was hard to take, but I am not ready to call for new coaches I think DL got schooled this year, by KS, KdB, and JS. But, at the end of the season, I can live with 9-3 and a Bowl game in his first year.
