  1. Damon Amendolara, subbing for Jim Rome on his show this morning, ranted on and on about how money is destroying college football. He made some good points, but I was annoyed with his indignation and raving against teams such as Oregon and Washington leaving one conference for another. He may have had those good points in his rant, but he concentrated on recent actions in college football, with no mention of his alma mater, Syracuse University, which left the Big East for the ACC beginning with the 2013-14 season, and the effect that had on the Big East. Maybe that wasn't as dramatic as what's happened recently, but Syracuse was making sure they would stay in a Power 5 Conference--not unlike currents teams moves....
  2. Oh, yes, great for fans watching TV, I totally agree! I was thinking about the travel time for the team. Of course, the players are much younger than I, so handling "jet lag" might be much easier for them. The football team is one of the few sports that rarely has to miss many classes, because in the PAC they could leave on a Friday afternoon for away games, but will have to leave early Friday mornings for games on the East Coast, if not on Thursdays. Other sports usually play over a period of two or more days, so the members of those teams can end up miss a lot of school.
  3. 3 games in the Easter Time Zone isn't too bad, but not great.
  4. I think with standing-room games Autzen has had 60,000. More shuttle buses? (I take the shuttle, and love it.) Maybe a parking garage, if needed?
  5. It will be fun to see The Duck interact with the other Big10 mascots.
  6. On another board (not a Duck one) a trojan fan said that one of the main reasons he he liked the USC leaving the Pac-12 was to get away from the abusive scheduling the Trojans received over the years. Abusive scheduling????
  7. According to the UO president: "In coming years, the UO will prioritize the long-held traditions, including competition across all sports with Oregon State University."
  8. How about the CTC Conference (Coast to Coast) or OTO Conference (Ocean to Ocean).
  9. At least one non-revenue sport, Acrobatics & Tumbling, already plays teams at a far distance, such as Qunnipiac in CT (and those teams travel here).
  10. She's a big fan, but is currently at a point where she has to count her pennies (long story).
  11. I have a friend who already has various streaming packages and cable and has decided that, rather than pay yet one more bill, will listen to Duck games on the radio if they will available only on Apple TV.
  12. Paul Finebaum slams Pac-12’s potential deal with Apple: ‘It’s over for the Pac-12’ WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Paul Finebaum has seen enough.
  13. As I understand it, Apple TV means no commercials? If so, does this mean the games would be over in 3 hours or less?
  14. Sigh. Well, now I'm a fan of Oregon joining the Big10, just so I can watch the games on ESPN, ABC, and Fox.
  15. Pac-12 schools have to be nervous about future: There was never a great media deal coming WWW.USATODAY.COM The truth of the Pac-12’s journey to a new media rights deal is that negotiations were never going well and the contract was always...
  16. Thanks, Mistertea and Ducked! Also, can you transfer tickets from Wallet to a friend or someone else?
  17. If I put my tickets in Wallet, can I still go to Ticketmaster to put them up for sale?
  18. When it comes to college football, I don't know what to believe anymore.
  19. Power 5 programs playing at Group of 5 venues in 2023 FBSCHEDULES.COM A look at the Power 5 college football programs playing at Group of 5 venues during the 2023 season.
  20. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Wake me when: There's a PAC media deal. Conference membership, current or new, is a done deal. Kliavkoff makes a final decision about anything.
  21. Maybe Nebraska can be lured to the PAC. They haven't had a lot of success in the Big10.
