  1. I wonder how Justin will do under the new Chargers coaching staff. He seemed to learn a lot with the one exiting.
  2. As long ago as the late 70s I remember fans in the stands saying we need Gus the Mule on the kicking team.
  3. In this it also says, "Feely, who plans to begin taking classes at ASU starting March 8, will be a preferred walk-on for the Sun Devils with an opportunity to be put on a scholarship starting in the spring of 2022." So it sounds as if a scholarship is not definite.
  4. And another job description is: Responsibilities: "The primary functions of this position include serve as academic liaison with the Office of Athletics Student Services; develop and implement a progressive life skills program in conjunction with Athletics Student Services; assist with orientation, admissions and housing process..."
  5. "Lucky for Herbert, in being drafted at No. 6, he went to the Chargers and not the Bengals. The Chargers are the better team and organization, as well as his childhood dream team." I think this is important. The team picking No. 1, after, is always the team with the worst record. And really, a player in the first round is going to get good money, even if he isn't #1. I remember it was predicted that Joey Harrington would go 10th in the draft, but instead when 3rd to the Lions. I don't remember who the tenth team was, but I'll bet Joey would probably have had a better start to his career there.
  6. A little off-topic, but any which way, I have to say that even with vaccinations I'm not sure that by fall I'll be ready to sit in a stadium with 50,000+ other people. I'm wondering if that many will be allowed, or if they will limit the number of fans to, say, 15,000, assuming fans will be permitted to attend all.
  7. I lose interest when recruits drag things out, so will continue to breathe.
  8. If an Alabama player leaves/enters the portal (willingly or with, um, encouragement) there would be a scholarship available...
  9. I know one Trojan fan who is complaining about the all-NW search committee, complaining that there is no representation on the search committee from California "which is where most of the league's revenue comes from . . ."
  10. I didn't attend the UO (grew up in CT), but Jack Henderson was the quarterback in the first Duck game I ever saw, which was the Duck-Beav game in 1975.
  11. The SEC puffs itself up with fans from all schools in the conference chanting, "SEC, SEC," and promoting their view that every team in the conference is good to great, so that a win against another SEC team supposedly has more value than teams in other conferences beating their own conference foes, with which the "committee" goes along when putting out the rankings during the season. (Yes, it's a long sentence, but I did use punctuation, so I hope it's readable. )
  12. I remember Cameron's fumble. And I too thought of it when Higgins fumbled today.
  13. I love the all Apple Green. Looks great, really shows up well on TV, and it's what the Ducks wore when they clobbered Florida State 59-20 at the Rose Bowl in the first-ever college football playoff game.
  14. I believe that COVID has killed about 10 times as many people as the flu usually does in a year, so that would be one good reason to require proof of vaccination IMHO.
  15. Sounds good! Looking forward to seeing him at Oregon.
  16. Altitude in Eugene, 420 feet. Altitude in Boulder, 5,328 feet. That could be a reason the Ducks struggle there.
  17. It's been over for two days, but one thing I would ask Cristobal if I could, very politely, is what was behind his decisions as to when to put in Shough and when to play Anthony Brown. It didn't seem to be switching quarters or even series, but, to my non-coaching eye, rather random. He may very well have had good reasons for when each played, but I'd love to know what those reasons were.
  18. I'm sad the Ducks lost, especially in the fashion they did. But I'm glad they chose to play in their bowl game, which is more than 6 other PAC-12 teams did. I hope the practices and game experience (however faulty) will help them learn to be better players starting in the spring.
