Hypothetically, If Dillingham Were To Leave…
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Legion's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Are you suggesting he come to Oregon for lower pay and longer hours? He gets $2M/year just to coordinate Dallas’ offense. No recruiting. Just football. He’s also in line for a NFL HC position. Jerry convinced him to stay in Dallas rather than go to Boise as their new HC. He’s likely been told that he is McCarthy’s replacement should he not work out. -
How Long Will MariØ Last At Miami?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Haywarduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don’t know what his buy out is. His relative who is helping fund things has been giving him glowing reviews. I would say he lasts as long as Jimbo at A&M. -
A lot of assumptions in that poll.

Arizona is the perfect trap game. They throw the ball well and the Duck pass defense is not good. They’re also at home where the last two games against Oregon were won by a combined score of 86-31. Throw in the penalty problems and this has all the makings of a big Arizona win.

Another Coaching Opening for Dilly . . Wisconsin
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think they’ve been looking for a reason to stick Jim Leonhard in there. He’s been the “coach in waiting” for quite some time. -
Did YOU Like Our Uniforms vs Stanford?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I liked them just fine. I agree the pants could use some green on them . I used to love the old diamond plate uniforms with Oregon written down the side of the pants. I wish they would do a throwback uniform with them. I also wish they would resurrect the old “mallard head” helmets from the 2000’s. -
Wisconsin fired Chryst. He was 67-26. The team seems to have quit on him judging by their performance in the past few games. Wisconsin fires football coach Paul Chryst WWW.ESPN.COM Wisconsin has fired coach Paul Chryst, and defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard will serve as interim coach for the remainder of the season.

UGA hasn’t played well the past couple of games. It makes Oregon’s loss look much worse. If Florida finishes behind UGA, Tennessee, and Kentucky in the SEC East then Utah won’t prevent two SEC teams from going to the playoff if they win out. They would need to hope for the ACC and Big 12 to cannibalize each other.

I’ve never seen a season where a team lost early by more than 7 TD’s and then went on to the playoffs or championship game. In fact, their lone loss by 4 TD’s to Bama was the reason why the 2020 Texas A&M team wasn’t considered for the playoff. They were beat out by a one-loss Notre Dame team who got beat by Clemson in the ACC championship game (they spent the pandemic year in the ACC).

The AP and coaches polls will be wildly different than the playoff rankings. If the playoff poll came out today I would bet that the Ducks would be somewhere between 15-20. They would definitely be behind Wake, Miss State and Kentucky. I would also bet that UCLA and TCU would be a lot higher ranked after their big wins this weekend.

Even if they win out, the Ducks will be outranked by all other one-loss conference champions as well as the team that loses the SEC Championship game (if that’s their only loss). I would say there is little chance Oregon goes to the playoffs as the PAC 12 champion. There would have to be a lot of two-loss conference champions. Playoff selection is still a beauty contest and Oregon has a big ol’ zit right in the middle of their forehead. 49-3 is a pretty big stain on their resume.

They had better get it figured out this week. The Ducks haven’t won in Tucson since 2011 and they were blown out the last two times they played there. Note to Dan Lanning. Don’t wear black/gray uniform combo.

End of 'Shout' as We Know It?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don’t think that Shout is going to go away. I don’t blame DL for putting a stop to the players dancing around. -
The big reason for Dixon’s success was Chip. That was his first year as OC and his offense was perfectly suited for DD’s skill set. Unfortunately for Ashford, he’s going to get a new coaching staff next season, so he will have to start over. There’s also a chance that he may not be in the future coach’s plans. For example, how many teams in the Pac are playing with a new transfer QB? I can name 6 just off the top of my head. Fuskies, WSU, Ducks, USC, ASU, Arizona.

End of 'Shout' as We Know It?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
How long have the players been dancing during Shout? The first I ever saw of it was Troy Dye in 2019. -
Yeah. You can see him smacking guys in the helmet. That’s considered a punch and it always ends in an ejection.
