  1. Who said there is no such thing as bad press? Excerpts below from the South Florida Sun-Sentential reprint Each week you kind of think it might be different for the Hurricanes. And you’re right. Each week it somehow looks worse. Did it look like they weren’t playing hard against their biggest rival? Or was it just that easy for Florida State? No one expected Miami (4-5) to be great this season. But, again, did anyone expect it to be this bad? It was time to turn the clock back for daylight savings on Saturday night. Miami would just like to turn the clock forward a few years. Maybe Cristobal has recruited out of this mess by then. He’s sure not coaching his way out, as Saturday again showed. Dave Hyde: This season of beatdowns can’t end quickly enough for Cristobal, Miami Hurricanes WWW.MSN.COM Mario Cristobal doesn’t need to say how much work is needed, as he did again late Saturday night, or that he knew what he was getting into in arriving at Miami, which might be harder believe...
  2. 31-3 FSU up at halftime. The vaunted Miami offense has racked up a scintillating 76 yards---total. Defense has given up 304.
  3. Minnesota (5-3) struggling to put away a 3-5 Nebraska. Anybody remember when P.J. Fleck and his Row the Boat mantra was a hot property? A lot of Duck fans thought he would have been a great replacement for Helfrich. Dodged a bullet.
  4. Details are unknown by the general public but the story has quietly circulated for well over a decade. It has credence because it is consistent with the way Phil Knight operates. My hunch is Oregon will have one of the best endowed athletic departments in college sports when all is said and done.
  5. Isn't the wide receiver room fairly deep with primarily young players? Chase Cota and Caleb Chapman are listed as seniors but do they have an extra covid year? We have a couple freshmen who are highly regarded that have barely seen the field plus a high four star and a five star committed. I don't understand the push for more receivers. Is it just recruiting site hype?
  6. Colorado rushing defense ranked 130 of 131. I expect your wish will be granted.
  7. At one time didn't they have a players counsel or something that had input on the uniform? Can't remember if it was related to uniform design and feedback to Nike or color combo's for games. Anyone remember?
  8. The Spokane media market is already covered with WSU 75 miles to the south. In addition who would be their travel partner? I'm not sure what monetary value they add.
  9. Basically he just looked bigger than everyone else. Looked up Inglewood High, only 800 students. The school has questionable academics which could easily keep recruiters away. Less than 5% meet California math proficiency standards? Really unfair to the kids. 10. Interesting prospect and offer sheet. Only two Pac-12 offers (Washington and 'Zona) but Michigan, Alabama, Florida State, etc. I would expect a versatile athlete at 6'5", 250+ and a 3.7 GPA according to his twitter bio, located in a recruiting hotbed, to be inundated with suitors. Wonder how fast and explosive he is?
  11. Oregon State travels to the Mistake by the Lake for a Friday night encounter with the Purple Poodles. Weather forecasts call for heavy rain and gusty winds which should favor the Beavers. Myself I'm pulling for the orange and black. Although Washington is no longer my least favorite league opponent that is only temporary as they will reclaim the top spot in 2024. Who do you want to win?
  12. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. Heck, I'll gladly settle for a one point Rose Bowl victory over the B1G.
  13. The first question in Lanning's press availability was about Seven. As his smile faded he gave a terse “He’s no longer with us. I wish him nothing but the best moving forward, but I won’t speak on it any more than that.”. I'm not sure it was completely McGee's decision on timing.
  14. If he was vocal about his frustration and leaving that may explain the departure announcement timing. The coaching staff may not want that in the locker room. Best of luck to the young man. He has had his share of obstacles to overcome.
  15. Well this is ugly. Another video showing another UM player being assaulted in the tunnel, this time with a helmet.
  16. Obviously not Charles but one factor I've read is at Auburn Nix was expected to run the play that came in from the sidelines. No deviation, run the play we called. Don't like the defensive alignment you're facing, run the play, make it work. One example "This is by far the most. In the past, I haven't really been able to check plays," he said of his time at Auburn. "What has been called, we're running no matter what... Some coaches are like that. They want to know where the ball is going, and I don't blame them. Sometimes you can get a quarterback who goes crazy with it. 17. I wondered how, with the ongoing history of tunnel fights at UM, a Wolverine player was left alone in the midst of the opposing team. Especially after the teams almost came to blows on the field. This seems to answer my question. Do you happen to have a link? I will add it still doesn't absolve the MSU players involved.
  18. He didn't travel for the Cal game. He recently retweeted a motivational quote which included in part "Move on and grow stronger" and most recently tweeted "Motivated! Ready to work." Wide open for interpretation. He has moved around a lot in his football career, committing and decommitting. I believe he was intending to enter the portal after MC left.
  19. Not sure who is at fault here. Two weeks ago Penn State and UM also had an altercation in the tunnel. In the above video it certainly appears MSU is guilty but the constant in both instances is Michigan. I doubt we will ever know where the blame lies. James Franklin calls out 1 problem at Michigan LARRYBROWNSPORTS.COM Penn State coach James Franklin thinks Michigan needs to change their policy with entering the tunnel to avoid confrontations
  20. I wonder which mediocre team will end up with the highest payroll, Miami or Texas A&M? The good news is I doubt either will win a championship. 21. I wondered the same thing. From the NCAA website... Here are the latest overtime rules: In 2021, the NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved a change to overtime rules. Teams will be required to run a 2-point conversion play after a touchdown when a game reaches a second overtime period. Previously, a 2-point attempt was required after the third overtime period. Also established in 2021, if the game reaches a third overtime, teams will run alternating 2-point plays, instead of starting another drive at the opponent’s 25-yard line. This is a change from the previous rule, which started to use 2-point plays in the fifth overtime period.
  22. Do we have a post of the year category? Well reasoned, well stated, well done. Encouraging to hear the newcomers are an upgrade in talent. I look forward to the upcoming WBB season and, hopefully, more evaluations by the above poster.
