  1. We had no idea he was also recruiting basketball players.
  2. This is what the CDC says about flu: CDC estimates that influenza has resulted in between 9 million – 45 million illnesses, between 140,000 – 810,000 hospitalizations and between 12,000 – 61,000 deaths annually since 2010. This is what the CDC says about flu: Half (51.8%) of persons six months and older were vaccinated during the 2019–20 season. So, let's not compare apples and oranges. How many people would have died of COVID if half of the population was vaccinated for it before COVID started spreading? My Point: The flu is extremely deadly IN SPITE OF half the population being vaccinated and we don't take any precautions regarding stadium entrance. Once new COVID cases are down to about the normal flu caseload, the number of people dying from COVID is unlikely to be any higher than that of the flu... ESPECIALLY if half the population gets the vaccination.
  3. ...and I don't think anyone complained about MC's interference that game??
  4. I searched before I wrote that and this is what I found... 16. Trail Blazers draft Isaiah Stewart >> officially traded to the Pistons, after first being dealt to the Rockets. Obviously, the Blazers got something out of the deal. Hopefully, they got something better than one PP.
  5. Charles, the article only mentions one guy leaving after 11 years. Are there more? One guy does not a trend make. I would be concerned if we were having a 30% turnover every year.
  6. Actually, Stanford was down two of its best players. When they meet again, the lady Ducks will be better and hopefully Stanford will be back to full strength. It will be another close game. Both UCLA and Stanford did play very good games. They need to win a couple while they still can. Speaking of while they can... feeling a little sorry for the Beavs. Both men's and women's BB shut down.
  7. Regarding the men's position... I notice that there is a large disparity between the AP and Coaches' polls for where the Oregon men stand. AP #22, Coaches #17. I cannot help but think that in the coaches' poll the Ducks are 5 spots higher just because of the respect the coaches have for Dana Altman. They have a better idea of where this team belongs.
  8. I am hoping that the UO will allow people with a vaccine certificate attend the Spring Game. I would say THAT should be mandatory if they let anyone in. For the fall, It depends on how the vaccinations go. If everyone who wants it, has it, then let everyone in... unless almost no one wants it. The most important issue is not how many people are vaccinated, but rather how much is the virus spreading. If COVID is not spreading any worse than the flu, (and we never kept anyone out during flu season), then why require proof of vaccination?? Right now, Oregon is diagnosing about 1000 new cases a day. That's more than 3 times what it was in the summer. The more people are vaccinated, the lower that number will be. Sooner or later it will be time to just open everything up, including large gatherings in indoor arenas.
  9. Huh??? We picked up two 5* linebackers last year, another 4* this year?? We also just picked up a 5* QB this year?? How much better can we do?? We just hired one of the best OC's in the country - in everyone's opinion. How much better can we do??
  10. He's going to make the Trailblazers sorry they passed on him.
  11. Great comment. Remember the war cry that the ladies had last year when the goal was a championship: "Leave No Doubt!" I loved it! The idea was to not just win games, but win them by big margins. Coach Graves ought to have a little heart-to-heart with Coach Cristobal about how to approach a lofty goal.
  12. Charles, is this you and your "Most Valuable Site in the PAC 12" trophy???? Good Job! Thank you for all you do!
  13. PP is already an impact player. He no doubt has a Nike contract (has to wear Nike stuff). The fact that he is wearing Nike DUCKS stuff brings more attention to both brands.
  14. Totally agree here. Starter or back-up, we need more than one or even two options.
  15. Yup. You only win this award if you are under pressure a LOT. Wish the Chargers would trade up and get Sewell instead of the current projection of a great wide receiver.
  16. Pretty good on the QB recruiting this year. Also a 4* RB. We'll see what happens.
  17. With the portal opening up for one free transfer, it's got to be a little difficult to keep things straight. For every one that transfers out you have room to transfer one in????? How about giving a walk-on kicker a scholarship?
  18. MC has obviously been working on a list of priorities. OL is #1. He then started recruiting defense, then receivers. All the while OL and now DL remain #1. It makes a little sense that RB was not first priority 3 years ago. It's not over yet.
  19. And yet, your examples are of this year. We are still having QB problems post Herbert (this year); no one has come close to replacing Troy Dye (this year). Your concerns are certainly valid, but, as you say, taking this year with a grain of salt is also valid. Talking about concerns from year 1 of MC, to be fair, he was just starting. It will be two more years before everyone on the roster are MC recruits. Everyone thinks 5 years is necessary to assess a rebuild, and everybody everywhere thinks that this program is ahead of schedule.
  20. Sorry, but I don't see that Oregon has a coaching problem at this time. Our most resent history is the 2020 season. Flush it. There are so many unknowns about what the team was facing this year that we really have no clue what was going on. We have no clue how many games the Ducks were way too close to not being able to play because of the 53 scholarship athletes able to play rule. We were told that there was at least one. We have no clue why certain athletes were not able to play in certain games. Micah Pittman's dad said that he wasn't sick, but he missed 2 or 3 games... Just because???? There were others that were out for no explained reason. We have mentioned that optouts had a huge impact on this last season. Youngest team in the country?? So, flush it... Don't take it seriously. Several people have said that MC is making great coaching hires. How can this be true at the same time that we have a coaching problem?? We fans seem to feel the walls caving in around us, but the fantastic, highly regarded, multi-star recruits don't see the walls crumbling down. They all signed and Oregon has it's best recruiting class in history. It looks like COVID is still going to have some impact on our spring, but it will be better than last year's spring. MC is still only 2 years into a rebuild at Oregon (2020 doesn't count). In his second year he won the conference and the Rose Bowl (2020 doesn't count). He has a three year winning streak having the best recruiting class in the PAC. He has the Ducks moving in the right direction. 2020 doesn't count.
  21. This is not a done deal yet. I am still hoping AA is staying. It is very nice to see that another strong candidate is in the mix. The fact that AA interviewed for the job says he is interested. I am hoping he is wanting to see how good of a DC he can be in the highest level of college ball with top notch recruits.
