The Rivalry Game Needs A Name!

Recommended Posts

I would like to see the loyal and informed members of the FishDuck community have a contest to see who can come up with the best name for our rivalry game against the Washington Huskies. To start things out, I have a suggestion: I would like to see it called " The D.B. Cooper Cup." It would be catchy nationally, and in its favor, it involves both States. It originated in Portland and then went on to Seattle. Finally, it ended in mystery at the border.

Ohio State Michigan game is just called the game. I think we should define the game better.

Quite simply this is what The Game is to me.

The Disdain Game!

I cop to kind of liking 'The Cascade Clash' but I'd be OK with 'The Empty the Dog Bowl Game.'

WOOF!

PULVIRIZE PENN STATE!

The Cooper Cupp could be mistaken for the Rams' star receiver, or the indispensable component of the players' equipment.

Also, no alliteration ought to be permitted.

"That Game Out West" Feels B1G appropriate

"Cascade Clash" Brings in the Mountain range and makes it feel something PNW.

But... does it need a trophy?

Don't know what the official name will be but I'd love to be able to refer to it as The Yearly Beat Down.

I kind of liked the Cascade Clash when it was mentioned on TV. It sounded appropriate.

Cascade Clash is unoriginal. The MLS already uses the Cascadia Cup for the Timbers/Sounders/Whitecaps rivalry.

At one time Washington was part of the Oregon Territory... Call it the Oregon's Territory clash. Haha.

Up until last Saturday, I was calling it the "Washington Problem", it doesn't seem like a "problem" anymore..... But it still has something to it...

Border Problem.

Cascade Problem.

The Problem.

Go Ducks.

As some wise man once said, there is nothing new under the sun.

I like Cascade Clash.

I like the Columbia River Shootout or the Columbia River Rivalry. Much more original.

Northwest Rendezvous

In North American history, a rendezvous was a larger meeting held typically once per year in the wilderness. All types included a major transfer of furs and goods to be traded for furs. Variations included a mix of other types of trading, business transactions, business meetings, and revelry.

Fur trappers, mountain men, traders, frontiersmen, harlots, Native Americans, pioneers, explorers, wives, scouts, whisky merchants

"Mirth, songs, dancing, shouting, trading, running, jumping, singing, racing, target-shooting, yarns, frolic, with all sorts of extravagances that white men or Native Americans could invent."

The whole thing sounds like a tailgate.
