Yesterday at 09:21 PM1 day No. I hope he follows WS to Kentucky. (I'm sure they've talked) His transition will be a lot smoother and he would probably play right away.
Yesterday at 10:29 PM1 day Moderator No. If he's following Stein, why announce anything? Why not just playout the season maybe get in a playoff game, then follow him out the door? I don't understand these early announcements.
Yesterday at 10:53 PM1 day No. I will be shocked if he goes to Kentucky or Cal. My guess is Power 5 for FCS. Writing was on the wall when he couldn't beat out Thomas as backup.
23 hours ago23 hr No. I'm guessing the reason for announcing before playoffs completed is so he has time to register at new school for start of winter term.UO starts 1/5. Novosad needs to be offered by someone, accept, get registered, and move. Makes sense to announce now

However, it could also be that Brock makes better decisions in practice. Sometimes QB’s with the stronger arms and the most athleticism give up more turnovers by trying to force things. My theory is that Austin knows that Dante is coming back for another season. It’s not unheard of. This is a guy who chose to transfer and then sit behind a veteran for a season to become a better QB.
22 hours ago22 hr No. I guess we’ll more or less find out what was happening this year based upon the level of who is interested in him.I’m not personally invested in someone with 99 yards of passing in 3 years with us, but certainly wish him luck.

As you mentioned, he’s already proven to himself that being patient pays dividends, and another year of strength training and weight room work would really help to get his body ready for the likely pounding he’d take as a 1st round draft pick.Like Bear Alexander points out, there’s no development at the second level.
20 hours ago20 hr No. I don't think it says anything about Dante, Novosad has had 3 years, if the coaches were telling him that he would need to fight for his job or that they intend to take a transfer than I'm pretty sure he would be transferring to somewhere where he has more assurance that he's going to play. It's been pretty obvious that this has been his plan all along.

18 hours ago18 hr No. Thinking he will follow WS to Kentucky. Will recruited him here flipping from Baylor. I think Will & Dan knew all along that WS would be a head coach somewhere and Austin would be following.
17 hours ago17 hr No. Kentucky has a RSo to be QB that played most of this season that apparently has fans pretty excited. He is a Kentucky kid who I guess was one of the highest rated in-state QBs to ever commit there back in 2024 (Cutter Boyle). He threw for 2160 yards leading UK to a 4-5 finish. I guess there was some panic he was going to jump in the portal with the coaching change and stayed (and there have been some comments from both Stein and new OC Joe Sloan backing Boyle as QB1).I don't see why Novosad would pick another spot where he enters as a junior behind a sophomore?(It sort of sounds a bit like Stein and Novosad would be starting their tenure off with some unhappy Wildcat fans and some extra pressure on both if Stein leapfrogged the popular in-state kid for a guy with 15 career passes) Edited 16 hours ago16 hr by AnotherOD

Ohio State's title last season is sullied because the starting QB transferred in? 😏Transfer QBs starting in the PO quarterfinals - Oregon, Dante Moore - Ohio State, Julian Sayin - Miami, Carson Beck - Ole Miss, Trinidad Chambliss - Indiana, Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza. If the NFL had unrestricted free agency, you'd see the same.Just Win, Baby! You don't get extra credit for recruiting a QB out of high school than you do for recruiting a QB out of the portal.
5 hours ago5 hr No. I think it’s assuming a bit much to think that he’s going to Kentucky. Guessing the transfer was happening with or without WS leaving…he might not be good enough to start in the SEC. I hope he is and that he kicks butt.
4 hours ago4 hr No. I like Novosad and feel like he is a plus QB needing game snaps. This year I liked having him in the room as backup if need be. I fully expect him to be another transfer from Oregon to land elsewhere and perform very good. There must have been locker room issues and understanding that led to Brock’s emergence. We have other good QB’s in the room, but have little information regarding their capabilities, development and ceilings. We know that Dan is building a championship capable team for 2026-27. He knows better than us the QB skills and leadership necessary for the season. He knows winning a Natty requires a top QB. I am reasonably sure he will find and field one. He will likely bring one in, but the room will compete in the Spring and Summer to decide who is the week one starter.
2 hours ago2 hr Moderator No. I wonder if Novo had gone somewhere else and played early if he would be a QB the Ducks would be thinking about portalling in next year. If this is how the future of the QB spot is selected it seems to me that the days of signing top level QBs is over. Am I missing something?

It definately makes sense for QBs. If that’s how things end up going, I think it makes the game even more interesting. I’d love to see the top young QBs playing and making the whole FBS more competitive.
46 minutes ago46 min No. Here is what I do know:As fans, we cannot tell how good a player is just by watching the Spring game, as much as we like to think we can. When Oregon players are here for 3 years and still don't play, that usually means that they are not going to play. Oregon transfers to other teams mostly don't shine and become stars, although there are a few exceptions. Novosad was already here and Dante leap frogged him, and it wasn't a real competition. This is the right time for Novosad to transfer. I'm sure he wants to play somewhere and have that college experience. Since he barely played at all, he would do better by going someplace where he has a better chance to win the spot.
