  1. I think there is a very clear difference. With Chip, Oregon came from nowhere nationally to perennial playoff contenders, 47-6. Football had never seen what Oregon was doing. Of course, it eventually would become what football was, in college and the NFL. The Ducks didn't win the Natty, and even though Oregon was one of the dominant running teams throughout the Chip era, all we would hear was the F word, finesse. Oregon under Lanning isn't finesse. We're not at the talent, depth level to win the Natty yet, but I'm confident that Lanning will get us there.
  2. Yes, it did, for the Natty in 2013, Alabama 42-14. But that's not it: 2001 Fiesta Bowl L 41-9 Oregon State 2004 Insight Bowl L 38-21 Oregon State 2006Fiesta Bowl L34-20 Ohio State 2007Fiesta Bowl L 41-14 LSU 2018 Semi-Final L Clemson 30-3 But they did beat Rutgers, 29-16 in the 2013 Pinstripe Bowl.
  3. Yes, charting Bo's season we have to say, 'skip game 1'. For the past 5 games, his only misstep, really, has been tripping to cause the only sack this season. He and KD have meshed better than we could have hoped. The passing game all over the field, Oregon is putting up running stats like it used to, and he's choosing the right times to run it himself. The best thing is that all of this should just keep getting better.
  4. Actually, USC in the Playoffs could be great to watch. It might not be 49-3, but if Alabama, or Tennessee, or Georgia or theeohiostate see SC in the first round, maybe it would be 49-3
  5. I really hope this happens; Bama hasn't been BAMing teams this season, I take the Beavs -3.5 over the Cougs, and can AZ somehow be Dirty Harry and 'Make our Day' by beating Washington?
  6. Oregon will get the 3 points for home field, so I'm saying the opening line will be Oregon -5.5.
  7. Practically speaking a win for USC is better, keeps them undefeated, it would be their first win over a quality, though sliding team, in Utah. But it's impossible for me to actually want USC to win. They were tolerable under Helton. But, give them a glimmer of light and once again they're unbearable. So, Ill be cheering for the Utes, and if SC wins, at least it won't be all bad.
  8. I can't argue with your points about the Alabama QB's. But I contend that after the Georgia game, where Bo gunslinged the Ducks into trouble, he underwent a heart transplant and is understanding and enjoying playing the way he has the last 5 games. He hasn't holstered his game. He's still running and getting very positive results. The biggest change is his passing, not forcing a big play but following the program, which has led to the great offense we've seen the last 5 games. Against UCLA I think Bo has to keep doing exactly what he's doing, managing the offense to over 47 points per game.
  9. I can answer the question with rooting for the Utes but understand that rooting interest aside the benefits of UnStopabbleConstipation winning. This will be the biggest test for 'Herd's favorite team this season, and the Utes will be angry.
  10. For my purposes, I'll change that to, 'anything that is Travis.'
  11. It's definitely a process. I saw replacing the QB who threw 5 INT's in 6 quarters as a very productive step. The new guy isn't great, but as much as the Beavs can fix their QB, they have. I don't think the comeback against Stanford happens with Nolan.
  12. My main adjustment would be No.5 Oregon State, who but for 4 INT's, would have taken down USC. They corrected their QB situation, and have a W on the road, albeit against Stanford, in a thriller So. No.12 Colorado No.11 Stanford No.10 Arizona * No.9 Washington* No.8 ASU No.7 Cal No.6 WSU No.5 OSU No.4 USC No.3 Utah No.2 UCLA No.1 Oregon * Could switch next week
  13. Isn't Chip, 'faceless opponent' guy?
  14. It seemed like the last Ducks football coach had no Bye week plan, just more building on that toughness.
  15. My first favorite Duck team was basketball, with Steve Belko coaching and Stan Love, Billy Gaskins, Bill Drozdiak playing...then the Kamikaze Kids in , "The Pit", then and always, the best place to watch a game! Love Ducks basketball!!!
  16. This could have something to do with why negotiations between the Pac-12 and ESPN, Fox bottomed out.
  17. I don’t know, they have a hard time answering the phone, I guess. The Michigan AD reported a strange ringing noise in his office to the maintenance department.
  18. Weren't expected but are logical. What?
  19. So far this season, once the Ducks have taken a lead, they've kept it. This is what happens when you aren't employing prevent offense.
  20. This is going to be very fun then! UCLA has had a very favorable schedule, but against Utah they showed what Bill Parcell said, 'You're as good as your record says you are'. I didn't see a weakness in their game against the Utes to exploit.
  21. That would require Washington to be Bowl eligible.
  22. I like the scenario where Oregon wins its games, and USC loses to Utah, UCLA and ends up playing in the Jimmy Kimmel Bowl.
  23. It's contagious at ESPN, David Pollack had WSU as his underdog pick when they played Oregon.
  24. UCLA looks scary good, DTR seems to have been there forever, and as they say, he has a lot of weapons, and the Bruins D [played like Chip's at Oregon, the Utes got a lot of yards, but not many points.
