  1. Horrific play by Texas in the RedZone, especially a missed chip shot FG at the end of the first half and talk about missed tackles! On the last drive, Longhorn has Young lined up perfect for a sack, but he goes in high, Young slips under, avoiding the sack and gains 17 yards. Texas clearly lost this game more than No.1 Alabama? won it.
  2. 10-10 at the half. So far, Georgia looks like the No.1 team to me. Alabama's touchdown was a breakaway 81 yards run in the 1st quarter. Texas scored on a drive started by their starting QB, who left after this hit. Texas missed a FG to end the first half.
  3. Oregon 59 EWU 29 Turnovers 2 Sacks 2 Passing Yards 228
  4. The Ducks got beat down last week. The good thing is they now know first hand what their D needs to look like. Georgia's D played exactly like Lupoi said he wanted Oregon's D to look like. Of course, it will take a while, and Oregon doesn't yet have the players to look like Georgia, but if Oregon uses last weekend as a teaching moment, it should be very beneficial.
  5. I was just pondering this last night. Last year's Jacksonville Jaguars were bad, really bad. I don't know for sure if they'd run Georgia off the field, or Alabama a couple of years ago. Are the Jacksonville Jaguars a team of 5 stars that would overwhelm the Bulldogs like they did the Ducks?
  6. After the Georgia game there's nowhere to go but up for Oregon. I don't know if USC would have been beaten 49-3 by Georgia, but laying 66 on Rice doesn't reveal a lot about Riley's team either, nor does UW's handing of Kent State. The guys in Las Vegas didn't get this one right, by a long way, they had the spread coming down. So, hand it to Georgia. I'm hoping that Cooper Kupp ll isn't on EWU this season and the Ducks can let out their frustration on the EWU Eagles.
  7. Which is what Cristobal said his teams would ne. That didn't happen. Agreed on both points here, the agony being, oh what could have been? As innovative and new Chip's, and Bellotti's '07 teams were, Oregon belonged on the field with the bluebloods. Cristobal's teams did get the win at the Horseshoe, but their No.4 ranking was a mirage. Hindsight shows that playing Georgia was a mistake, the outcomes would probably be worse if they played 9 more times. But that doesn't mean that Oregon doesn't belong in the top 12. Watching Utah and Florida play, showed me that Oregon can compete with them. 11 games left on the schedule; the Georgia game was an L from the start. The season starts against EWU.
  8. That pass by Utah was almost as bad as the Russell Wilson ill conceived throw against the Patriots in the Super Bowl. The Utes had moved down the field, had momentum, a chip shot field goal sends the game to OT. Playing not to lose is a bad idea but going for the win isn't always the best idea.
  9. I like this. I remember my prediction, Oregon wins, 17-13. What was I thinking? Georgia is beyond good. Utah and Florida came on later, neither of them would have touched Georgia either. Might have done better than 49-3, but Georgia would clobber them too. Let's see that big improvement from week one to week 2. I don't know what that will show in Georgia vs. Samford but I expect a big leap in Oregon at home against EWU.
  10. It did work for Boise State when they changed QB's against the Beavs last night. It didn't get a win, but the offense was energized. I don't think that bringing Thompson or Butterfield in against that Georgia D would have helped either the team or Thompson or Butterfield. This week's practices should be interesting.
  11. Let's put a Bo on this one! The comment about the defense's impact is a key. Will Bo nix the reckless throw because he knows the defense will take care of things and get the ball back?
  12. While we are watching Oregon and Georgia on ABC, ucla and usc will be playing their games on the Pac-12 Network.
  13. Ducks 17 Bulldogs 13 2 TO's 1 Sack 230 passing yards
  14. Currently, Notre Dame at -13.5 Ohio State, I say a Buckeyes cover, Boise State at -3 Oregon State, take the Beavs.
  15. Scoring 45 points would be surprising, not too mention covering the spread, I'll take Bethune-Cookman +45.
  16. Yeah, he wouldn't say it about any Pac-12 team...but Oregon, Utah it works. It's the Smart thing to say.
  17. I thought the game against FSU was the one, 'that could have gone either way.' But your point is well taken about the mindset of the head coach. Chip always wanted to start the game with the ball, Mario preferred to defer until the second half. Which way will Lanning go?
  18. USC wasn't hateable under Carroll, thet weren't despised under their Ducks coaches, McKay and Robinson. They were pretty much ignored under Smith and Hackett, and universally loved under Helton. But, without even playing a game under Riley, USC is Enemy No.1 There's nothing the talking heads like more than a story with a built in audience and that's what USC and the Dallas Cowboys have. Both have tradition and glory. But the glory is in the past. 17 Bathrooms hasn't won a game yet, but the Trojans are headed to the playoffs? I personally hope that their new RB, he won't have his name on the back of his jersey, but I'll know who he is, has an awful season. I
  19. Well, gee, I wish I could buy Mr. Caldwell a drink, to make up for all the all the horrible things all of us Duck fans have done to him and everybody all these many years! It's just so wrong, how we have carried on with callous disregard to all the other schools, teams, mascots and fans. I frankly don't know how we all live with ourselves. Shouldn't we know our place? The Huskies are fine, noble dogs, the Trojans, well yes, a product bought in the back of drug stores, but before then, gladiators and their mascot is big horse! We have a Duck. To Softy, and Ryan Appleby, and Jake Browning and all those other Husky legends, I can only say, 'how great thou art!'
  20. Joshua, I agree, for Oregon to win, or Georgia for that matter, it has to control the game, and the foundation of that is it needs to stop Georgia's running game. It's that simple, and that crucial. Get Georgia consistently in 3rd and long, and have not that be just what they want against the Ducks D anymore, and the Ducks have a great chance to come out with the W. Of course, that means the Ducks need to be able to run the ball themselves, creating manageable 3rd down situations, and as you noted, tossing in some explosive plays as well. A turnover or two by the Bulldogs would be great, too. Touchdowns of course. But absolutely no empty drives. Missed field goals are a downer every time.
  21. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Frost The Colley Matrix recognized the 2017 UCF team as national champions,[8] and the school claims a national title despite not winning the college football playoff. This remains Frost's only winning season as a head coach.
  22. Any way I think about them is terrifying!!!!
  23. I remember listening to an interview with an "expert" on the radio a while back. the host introduced him by saying that over the last 5 years he had correctly predicted at least 3 of the Final Four teams! My Aunt Gertrude also did that. He came on and went through the analysis he had come up with and after10 minutes it was reduced to that the teams with the most talent and best coaches have the highest probability of winning!
  24. Et tu, Carol? It's hard to look at her words and actions and see anything else than a snake and that feckless foursome, Marc Kulkin, Chris Arledge, Erik McKinney, and Greg Katz? Can we be surprised by the collective drivel? USC, right now, before any games have been played is where they love to be, in the spotlight. Imagine the squeals of delight after they cover against Rice!
  25. Bullwinkle, Wossamotta U was robbed of the Heisman...and theeOhio state's Archie Griffin won it twice!
