  1. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Oregon fans travel well to a major bowl game. Ohio State outnumbered us almost 2 to 1 in the 2010 Rose Bowl and national championship. Hell, they almost had 30% of Autzen Stadium this year. My guess is either OSU or Tennessee will have significantly more fans in LA on January 1st. Auburn, KSU, Wisconsin, Penn State (B1G CG) all showed up in droves and made the Oregon crowd look small. However, this year’s team responded well in Indy, so the lack of Duck fans shouldn’t affect them too much.
  2. The same thing happened to the Penn State student section. Apparently, the CFP controls the tickets for playoff games. Student Section Seating Reduced Ahead Of Penn State Football Playoff Game Against SMU | Onward State ONWARDSTATE.COM Ticketmaster showed five sections, including two in the south end zone, for sale that are usually reserved for student seating.
  3. According to the lady a few cubicles over from me at work, Oregon won’t make it past the first SEC teams they face. I believe the quote I heard was “Bama would walk all over Oregon, so they don’t stand a chance against Tennessee or Georgia”. She was going on about how the best teams weren’t in the tournament because they had to let the other conference champions in and a few wild cards. I didn’t say anything to her but an opportunistic NY Giants fan reminded her of the 2007 and 2012 Giants teams who won the Super Bowl with 9-7 records. I don’t really blame her. She’s still sees the world through Saban colored glasses and she thinks Milroe is a great QB. She’ll get over it when Bama finishes in the middle of the SEC a few more times.
  4. Neither of those three teams had a 1000 yard rusher. Colorado and SJSU didn’t even reach 1000 yard for the season as a team.
  5. I think Mario is still a great recruiter, so he will always have good players. Hopefully, for his sake, he can graduate from on-the-go breakfast snacks to more of a sit down meal. I predict he makes to the Tony the Tiger Bowl next year. Fun Fact about Tony the Tiger. The man who sang You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch is the same guy who did his voice. Thurl Ravenscroft.
  6. That’s what Niko Reed was calling it anyway. It sure would explain a few things about the defense. .
  7. The Ducks first road game next season will be in front of 110,000 fans in State college, PA. It will also likely be a white out. That sounds like a tough game to me.
  8. The award is for most outstanding player who started his career as a walk-on. Congratulations Bryce!
  9. The second year in a row Oregon has sent a QB to New York. Gabriel, Hunter, Jeanty, Ward named Heisman Trophy finalists - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Oregon's Dillon Gabriel, Colorado's Travis Hunter, Boise State's Ashton Jeanty and Miami's Cam Ward were announced as the Heisman Trophy finalists Monday night.
  10. Stockton looked good the other night. He isn’t any worse than Beck.
  11. It’s looking like he may have played his last snap at UGA. He’s currently seeking a second opinion for his UCL injury diagnosis. Carson Beck injury update: Latest on Georgia QB - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Georgia quarterback Carson Beck injured his right elbow in the SEC title game. On3 has the latest...
  12. Texas has a very favorable path as far as travel is concerned. They play at home, then onto Scottsdale, the Dallas. Not bad.
  13. If Oregon gets into the semifinals they will play in Dallas. They won’t make the #1 seed travel to Miami.
  14. Oregon’s path is tough, but I will argue that UGA’s path is just as hard. They would likely have to play Notre Dame and Penn State to get to the championship game. Both have defenses that can neutralize the Dawgs offense. Especially, if Beck is out.
  15. Everybody talks about strength of schedule. However, they seem to forget about inexplicable losses. The committee didn’t admit it, but it looks like they punished teams with inexplicable losses which I’m a big fan of. When you don’t beat the teams you’re supposed to beat then you don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. Bama (OU, Vandy), Miami (Syracuse, GT), Ole Miss (Kentucky, Florida) were left out. Ohio State (Michigan) was dropped to the 8 seed despite beating Penn State head to head. Notre Dame (NIU) got dropped to the 7 seed despite being the #3 ranked team in the AP.
  16. I read a comment on the Twitterverse that he was sick and almost didn’t make the trip to Indy. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, though.
  17. And for the Lions in the 70’s and 80’s. That was when most of America didn’t even know Detroit had a football team until Thanksgiving Day rolled around and we were forced to watch them.
  18. It looks like it will be September 27th. For those of us planning to go we can leave the cold weather gear at home.
  19. He wasn’t lying about the press conference setup.
  20. This game reminded me of the 2012 Oregon/USC game in LA.
  21. I’m not loving the championship gear online. They can’t use the “O” because it’s trademarked, so the interlocking UO is on all of the gear.
  22. Ducks won the turnover battle. That was the difference.
  23. Let’s discuss the game right here.
  24. I think the committee will put a 4th SEC team in the playoff. They have already shown their hand.
