  1. First Cal QB to go to the Rose Bowl in 66 years. QB recruit Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele flips to Cal via portal - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, who first committed to Cal in July before his Dec. 4 flip to Oregon, has signed with Golden Bears after entering the transfer portal.
  2. He’s the kind of guy that will be riding the bench at all four until his eligibility runs out. That is, until he figures out that he has to put in the work. If that ever happens.
  3. This kid is in for a rude awakening if he keeps this attitude up.
  4. I can see a few players getting sick this time of year, but OSU sure did a number on Tennessee and then did the same thing to Oregon. It just seems like OSU got hot at the right time.
  5. I live in NC and you can’t swing a dead cat and not hit a Bucknut fan in my neighborhood. They’re good eggs. They like CFB, they love booze, but they sure don’t like to admit defeat. They’re always griping about getting screwed by the refs or the pro-SEC system (we can all relate). They love Ohio State, but don’t seem to love the state of Ohio. They and New Yorkers make up the majority of “half-backs” down here. For reference, “half backs” are the Yankees who move to Florida, can’t stand the heat and humidity, and move half-way back home. Usually GA, SC or NC. Fun people, though.
  6. DB - Savage is looking at staying with his JUCO waiver. Jahlil started the year prior. LB - Boettcher is looking at the possibility of staying with a waiver. He’s a 25th round pick of the Astros which guarantees him about $5.25/hour. DL - Caldwell is open to staying with his JUCO waiver. He’s currently listed as a UDFA for his NFL draft grade. OL - Lanning stated that they’re trying to get Bedford an injury waiver. Silva is eligible for a JUCO waiver and wants to stay. (for what it’s worth).
  7. Herbert is thriving in LA, Bo has exceeded expectations and is a ROY candidate, and Dillon should get drafted despite his size. I don’t think Oregon will have any problems attracting QB talent either from high school or the portal.
  8. He did take part in bowl practice as an early enrollee. It probably hit him then how daunting his climb would be.
  9. There could be a number of reasons for this. My guess is the QB room is quite full and he doesn’t see playing time in the near future. Oregon QB Jaron Sagapolutele to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal WWW.ON3.COM Oregon Ducks five-star freshman quarterback Jaron Keawe-Sagapolutele is expected to enter the transfer portal.
  10. College football needs to get rid of its addiction to bowl games and make the CCG’s part of the playoffs if they want to keep them. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Your eight P4 CCG teams and four wild card teams make up the first round. These games take place during CCG weekend. Now, you’re down to six teams. The two highest ranked teams get a one week bye. The remaining four play the next weekend at the higher seeds home stadium. The winners advance to play the two highest ranked teams at their home stadium. All of this happens before Christmas. The championship game is played on New Year’s Day in either the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl or Orange Bowl since they’re the oldest and have the most tradition. The rest of the bowl games are consolation games.
  11. Their offense isn’t very explosive. Their defense creates a lot of points for them. They lead college football with 148 points off of turnovers. They did give up 35 to the only decent passing team they played all year (USuC). They should be pushovers if they beat PSU. My guess is you would beat them 38-14 or something close to that.
  12. Up until this season every team went into the CFP or BCS Championship game with the same layoff. This season is definitely different.
  13. It still might be. I don’t see any remaining team in this playoff that can hold you guys under 35 points. Texas has a good defense, but their offense won’t give them any help. Their OL is banged up and Ewers is a statue because of his ankle. I don’t see them putting up more than 14-17 points on your defense. Their only advantage is playing in Arlington where their fans have been buying Cotton Bowl tickets since they went on sale. ND can’t keep up with your rate of scoring. Their offense just isn’t explosive. You already know PSU won’t score more than one TD on you.
  14. We can always just claim a national championship like Bama and Washington used to do in the 60’s and 70’s.
  15. Gotta kick the FG right there. After watching Dilly pass on two easy FG’s yesterday, an easy 3 points is never a bad idea.
  16. Combined halftime score for all four playoff games this weekend is 81-21 in favor of the non-bye teams.
  17. Alex, Welcome. Duck fans can definitely get down in the gutter with the best of them. Just not on this forum. We’re really no different than any other neuroti…errr passionate fan base. Stick around awhile. You might just get to witness us calling for Dan Lanning’s head after our first loss next season.
  18. Oregon came back and took the lead before losing 34-31.
  19. Let me give everybody a little perspective since it seems the torches and pitchforks have already made their appearance with regard to our coaching staff. Tennessee lost to Ohio State just as bad as Oregon did. Sure, it was cold, but it was just as cold in Knoxville during their practice week leading up to the game. That said, Tennessee’s defense is in the top 10 in every defensive category in the nation. They also play in the toughest conference in the nation. Yet, none of their fans are calling for Tim Banks’ head. In fact, Tennessee is in danger of losing him to another program. Texas has the best defense in the nation and Ohio State will score 35+ points on them and win by 2+ TD’s. Take that to the bank, you heard it here first, print the newspapers now, etc. Ohio State will embarrass every defense they play from here on out.
  20. He has only been blown out two of his six losses. That’s not half of his losses. It actually comes out to 33.33 (repeating, of course) percent.
  21. Let’s give this guy another shot.
  22. I totally disagree. Go look at Twitter and the Bleacher Report boards. Oregon is getting trolled hard. Not just by the usual subjects from UW, USuC and Beavis. It’s coming from all over the country. That doesn’t happen if you’re not nationally relevant. It happens when people are relieved because they’re scared s***less of you winning and taking their failing grip on the power they once held. Lanning is consistently recruiting top 5 classes and PK will pay for top transfers. Oregon has had two top 10 finishes in three years under DL and he is just now collecting a roster filled with 5 star recruits. The future is bright. That’s all of the therapy I’m giving on this forum today. I hope it helps. Remember, the first session is free. The next one will cost you.
  23. Winning championships is hard. Look at Ohio State. They’ve had stacked rosters for over 20 years and have two championships to show for it. With Lanning’s recruiting and coaching prowess, Oregon has a realistic chance of winning the big game. It also takes some good fortune to go along with the skill and hard work. I can count at least two Bama championships that don’t happen without another team losing late in the season. In 2011 they got in because Oklahoma State lost to ISU and we all know how they got in the championship game in 2012.
