  1. If Oregon gets into the semifinals they will play in Dallas. They won’t make the #1 seed travel to Miami.
  2. Oregon’s path is tough, but I will argue that UGA’s path is just as hard. They would likely have to play Notre Dame and Penn State to get to the championship game. Both have defenses that can neutralize the Dawgs offense. Especially, if Beck is out.
  3. Everybody talks about strength of schedule. However, they seem to forget about inexplicable losses. The committee didn’t admit it, but it looks like they punished teams with inexplicable losses which I’m a big fan of. When you don’t beat the teams you’re supposed to beat then you don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. Bama (OU, Vandy), Miami (Syracuse, GT), Ole Miss (Kentucky, Florida) were left out. Ohio State (Michigan) was dropped to the 8 seed despite beating Penn State head to head. Notre Dame (NIU) got dropped to the 7 seed despite being the #3 ranked team in the AP.
  4. I read a comment on the Twitterverse that he was sick and almost didn’t make the trip to Indy. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, though.
  5. And for the Lions in the 70’s and 80’s. That was when most of America didn’t even know Detroit had a football team until Thanksgiving Day rolled around and we were forced to watch them.
  6. It looks like it will be September 27th. For those of us planning to go we can leave the cold weather gear at home.
  7. He wasn’t lying about the press conference setup.
  8. This game reminded me of the 2012 Oregon/USC game in LA.
  9. I’m not loving the championship gear online. They can’t use the “O” because it’s trademarked, so the interlocking UO is on all of the gear.
  10. Ducks won the turnover battle. That was the difference.
  11. Let’s discuss the game right here.
  12. I think the committee will put a 4th SEC team in the playoff. They have already shown their hand.
  13. Roughing call was total BS. Gotta beat UGA and the SEC refs. They’re protecting the shield.
  14. Exactly! Those hits happen on slow Tuesday’s at a lot of practices.
  15. Both did very well with Bo at the helm, so it’s a push with regard to who is the better OC. Dilly has taken ASu from the basement to the penthouse in a year, so he’s going to be hard to beat. However, there is a lot of time for this to change. Everything depends on where Stein lands as a HC. Different programs can help a HC or hinder him. We’ve seen how
  16. The hyperbole from JoeTessitore and Jesse Palmer calling it the “most violent hit of the year” is very off-putting. Yet, this play was considered clean.
  17. What has football become? The defensive player used perfect technique. Was it targeting by definition? I guess so, but the tackler came in with his head up.
  18. Quick answer. Both are about the same as OC’s. Dilly seems to be better HC material only because he’s a HC and I can watch his interviews.
  19. I had no idea Blake Purchase’s brother played for ISU.
  20. Dilly’s boys may not have the talent that the top teams have, but they go hard every play.
  21. Penn State’s defense can keep them in any game they play. I think they’re deservedly a top 5 team.
  22. And just like that, Jeanty busts off a 75 yard TD.
  23. UNLV’s QB is skittish. Had he stood in the pocket he would’ve seen his WR coming open on the cross. Instead, he got sacked for a huge loss.
  24. Let's get it going on Saturday! (NOT the Oregon game, as we'll have another thread for that) ------------------------------------------------------------- Heisman Trophy and playoff hopes are hanging in the balance for Boise State. Army has been a nice story this season, so it would be nice to see them win a conference championship.
  25. According to the University of Oregon academic calendar the students will be on Winter break from 14 December-05 January. This means they won't be around for a home playoff game. I'm guessing their tickets would go for sale on the open market which means we could see massive amounts of opposing fans in Autzen. Oregon either has to win the CCG tomorrow night or hope for ASU or Boise in the first round. If a SEC team comes to Eugene it will look like the Tennessee game from 2013 when they filled about 35% of the stadium. If I know Southerners like I think I do, they will mortgage their houses and live off of Dollar General food for a year to pay for a trip to Oregon see their team play.
