Expanded CFB Playoff in Three Years? Massive Details...
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It won't happen, but I hope they don't give a full percentage of money to conferences with multiple teams participating. For example, every conference gets a full share with 1 team participating. Every additional team added reduces the share for those additional teams. Splitting 1.2 billion between 10 conferences/12 schools will have B1G and SEC bringing home an extra 300-400 mil per year. -

Thoughts About the Georgia Game (Now That Some Time Has Passed)
Tandaian replied to a topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It was embarrassing and very concerning. However, 1 games doesn't make a season. I'm cautiously optimistic, but as many have pointed out, I think we may know what type of season we will have after the BYU game. I don't think the Ducks were anywhere near the level of UGA, but I feel like it was the avalanche effect. If Nix doesn't throw INTS on our 2nd and 3rd possession, the momentum doesn't shift quite as much. I still think we get beat badly, but not quite as bad. -
I'm not surprised by the Ducks making ESPN the Bottom 10 at #5. #5 is usually a good team that got beat bad the week before. Now if the Ducks fall into any of the other standings, then you know we are having a bad season.

BIG NEWS: NCAA Moves To Contain Transfer Portal Free Agency

Still has plenty of time for athletes to make their decision, but also gives teams a window to know when they need to be looking for players. I like it. -

The Choice is Pretty Simple to Me About Oregon's Future...
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If the B1G goes to 20 teams, I'm not sure how you do the scheduling. Having two divisions, play your other 9 teams and then in the conference championship game play the other conference winner? Trying to play every other conference member isn't a reasonable goal. If the B1G does bring in the 4 additional Pac 12 schools, the B1G Ten conferences would be: USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Stanford, Cal, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, MSU, Michigan, tOSU, Penn St., Rutgers, Maryland. -
Well, it is the 1st game, so I think it is fine. Plus, it is against his old HC, so there is that part of the equation as well. Once, this game is played, if there are no injuries, 90% of the players who started this game, will be starters the rest of the season. You can only be this secretive for the 1st game of the year.

Should Fans Feel Compelled to Contribute to NIL?
Tandaian replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The average tuition across all states for 2021 was $30,000. Let's add $10,000 for room and board. The average scholarship then is $40,000. 124 teams with 85 scholarships costs the schools $421,600,000 per year. Add in basketball 358 teams, 13 scholarships at $40,000 and that is an additional $186,160,000. Total of $607,760,000. The TV money the D1 football conferences pulled in was 1.553 billion. That doesn't include the TV money the D1 basketball conferences pulled in. The big 5 professional leagues don't give less than 48% of revenue to the players. Scholarships for football and basketball only account for 39.11%. I don't know what the right way to move forward is, but why are the kids that make sports happen, the ones who have to get the short end of the stick? The coaches are paid like professionals. With the new contract Nick Saban signed, I believe he is the 2nd highest paid football coach in America. Only behind Sean McVay.
