No NLI Yet From Some Big Names
I don't, as of 11:10am see a signed NLI from Uiagalelei, Bowen or Austin, on the official site. Am I being a Debbie Downer? Or, in today's world, should we not believe in anything until we see the signature? Signing Day ADMIN.GODUCKS.COM Wednesday, December 21: Signing Day for University of Oregon Ducks Football

Quaaack! Austin Novosad is a Duck
Next, fans will be offered a better cable package and free beer if they flip. And the fan portal? Crazy! 😁

Oregon Will Be Just Fine Without Dante Moore
Like every jilted fan base, we're flipping from "he's the greatest recruit ever, gotta keep him" to "ahh, didn't need him anyway". I've seen this year after year, at school after school. It's human nature, and something I'm totally guilty of. Wake me up when spring practice starts.

It's Official - Dante Moore Flipped to UCLA
The use of the "zero" in his handle was what tipped me off.

It's Official - Dante Moore Flipped to UCLA
One hypothesis being bandied about was that Bo's decision to return was predicated on getting sufficient NIL dough to stick around. Who knows? It's all speculation. I think he threw the I Ching.

Oregon’s NLI Signing Day Could be Insane
We're going to look back on 2022, and maybe next year, as the Wild West days of NIL and NLI and the portal. I think it has to settle down into some sort of order in the near future.

I Consider Bo a Duck for Life!
Seems like he really enjoys playing in Eugene, as compared to the unfair expectations and pressure heaped on him at Auburn. OTOH, there's the perspective that he's extorting the Ducks with his lack of decision on whether to return for another season. Oregon Football: How QB Collin Schlee’s UCLA commitment impacts Ducks DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM UCLA landed QB Collin Schlee in the transfer portal on Saturday. What does that mean for Oregon when it comes to Dante Moore?

Chaotic Transfer Portal is Destroying College Football
I think that once players see the statistics on their odds of a successful transfer - competition level, scholarship - this current madness will settle down, in terms of numbers of players entering the portal. Could take several years. But, I think the chances of tampering via back-channel communications will go up, and transfer deals will be made in advance, with NIL money being thrown around as the inducement. Or, rules will be put in place that will slow things down. There is still an NCAA, isn't there? That could take a few years, too. And again, I don't blame the players. Look at the coaches, their supposed role models. Coaches are out the door the minute they smell a better offer, leaving behind a contract, recruits, fellow coaches, and fans. Why is a player to blame when Kenny Dillingham is considered simply making a rational decision to take a better job?
-
Looking Like Dante Moore Is Going to UCLA
I disagree with that. He, and most of the other recruits, are simply looking to find the best avenue for themselves. Some may be scamming, sure, but not the vast majority. Likely that Moore had doubts when Dillingham left, which is valid. Would you say Dillingham has integrity issues? After all, he probably signed a contract and left, not just went back on a verbal commitment. I don't think it's fair to expect high school kids to have loyalty to a school they've never attended, when the example they're shown by the coaches is that's all for one, and all for one.

Today's Pac-12 Bowl Updates
Interesting, one of the commentators said OSU has just one player in the portal.
-
Verbitment
Gotta disagree. I think most commitments are honored by recruits. It's just the few big, emotional dramas, like Dante Moore, that grab our attention. I'll wager that most of the Ducks' commits come in as promised. Most kids and their families have gone through a long-term evaluation process and aren't likely to change their minds at the last minute once they've made what is a major life decision.

Looking Like Dante Moore Is Going to UCLA
Oregon Recruiting: 5-star QB Dante Moore expected to flip to UCLA DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM According to 247Sports’ @SWiltfong247, all of the tea leaves show that 5-star QB Dante Moore is going to end up at UCLA, not Oregon. HUGE Final Recruiting Weekend: Big Fish, Big Swings, BIG Closer...
Oh, i think the $ can break Oregon’s way, not cynical in that sense; my guess is that Ducks can and will compete and win in that arena. Just looking forward to when this brave new world settles down a bit.

HUGE Final Recruiting Weekend: Big Fish, Big Swings, BIG Closer...
Indeed, that is a lot of talent on a knife edge, with many possible outcomes. At this spot in the NIL/ Portal road I sadly think that the phrase to keep in mind is, money changes everything.

Dante Moore Reportedly Visiting UCLA
The best thing about the actual football-playing season is that we deal in facts: passing yards, rushing attempts, wins, losses, that sort of thing. The off-season? Rumors, speculation, opinions, predictions, innuendo...how about a 12-month season?

Troy Taylor is the New Stanford Coach
I notice that he is the "Director of Football" in the press release. Why not the Leland Stanford Jr. University Head of the Department of Football Studies? Sounds much better than "coach".
