  1. People chasing that flapping Dollar in the wind, might. But smart people, develop their foundations first. See Dan Lanning assembly of staff. Could it be possible, sure. Smart man making that decision, KD NO WAY says me. Kenny wants to prove himself. Arizona St going to have some NCAA issues. No matter what, if KD performs to the level he has, there will be positions galore for a man of his skills. One that will provide security to him and his young family. Had Harsin, looked at Auburns past, Place where Coaches go to Die Rich. See Texas, Miami, FSU, Tennessee, Florida, USC and soon to be Texas A&M. I would have added Nebraska but they kept their coaches over 4 years, I believe.
  2. Charles, You are so correct! Had me laughing because it is so true. Was such an exciting, emotional game for both sides. Games like these are WHY I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL! I have to believe, that Dan Lanning will figure it out and we will be much more happier in the long run. Already a big change with the players and now fix what you have to fix and get back to work. Utah is coming to Oregon's House. And just remember, we have it better than Mario. Go Ducks, fly like I know you can.
  3. I took it to mean that the defenses difficulty in stopping the middle pass over the LB's has resulted in YAC for the opponents. Could be wrong but that seems to me to be the issue, that the offense has to keep producing and the defense needs to step up and has not. I would agree there is some room for improvement but Washington came to Autzen and played some tough football. Now, Lanning and Company need to make sure we get better for UTAH. Dan Lanning and Company have got us this far and I trust him to guide us to more victories down the road. Every player interviewed post game, has said there is work and effort needed to be better. I trust these coaches and staff to lead them there. Keep your heads up Ducks, Utah is coming to town.
  4. Charles, I can always count on you to make me laugh. Just so you know, I was proud of our guys. Made some mistakes but had me on the edge of my seat, just like the WSU game.
  5. This was a great game to watch. Both teams battling. Little things to get right, defense needs to trust its players to do their job. Not enough pressure on the QB to much depending upon slow DB's to catch great receivers with speed, YAC. Lack of a good back up QB, coach, that is on you. You was playing with fire and got burnt. But man, this has been exciting watching the positives. Keep your heads up, many did not think you would do this well. Go Ducks, beat UTAH. Catch that lightning in a bottle and finish strong.
  6. What a great way to keep the GOAT busy and her mind sharp. I like this "new" Oregon way, little of the DL way of organization. If you want to be a player with the big boyz you got to evolve and lead the way. Could start a trend in sports.
  7. Money is not the answer. It is why Oregon did not just open up the check book to Mario, in my opinion. They had former coaches, Chip in particular, that showed if you could coach up your players and have some speed you could change the game. While Chip controlled the offense, he allowed coaches to coach and for the most part, he had a lot of success. Mario, can not get himself to let go of control to those he hired. His down fall is self inflicted but at a high price which we all get to enjoy watching from afar. . . . The gift, that keeps on giving. . . .
  8. David, You NAILED IT! They lost the game, nothing to prove but he came in and lead the team. He made positive plays for his guys to build on, for the future. No wasted moments, like every snap, was game experience for the future. Thanks for the perspective.
  9. Love this stuff Cartm25. Thanks for putting in the time, it really puts the info into perspective. Time to find, research and make the information understandable, is a WHOLE THING. Ugh. But the wheels in my head won't quit turning. Too much coffee. But love what you have found. Thanks for all you do. A great forum for sharing.
  10. I believe, and let me tell you how hard for me this has been to articulate, TT does not have command of the offense. Bo approaches the line, looks over the defense and appears to be able to make adjustments to the called play. Young TT, does not appear to make those critical calls. This year looks no different than last years performances and that was a whole different staff. The other indicator to me is, team mates banter. Have I missed the excitement from RB's, WR's or TE's, even linemen regarding his leadership, efforts. Some people are quieter than others and let their actions speak for them. Confidence is important for a QB, it is built by little successes, positive plays. Everyone wants a Five Star QB that elects to come to Oregon to succeed. Part of being a Duck Fan, is watching young men, find their voice, develop their talents and finding success as a Duck Athlete. TT, I have NO DOUBT that Duck Fans, myself included, want you to succeed and have memories that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Go Ducks. Thanks Charles and Staff.
  11. Mic, Had Oregon played Georgia at the end of the season as Tennessee has, I would agree with you. But the fact that it was Oregon's First Game of the new season, it is apples and oranges. Oregon has a completely NEW STAFF, Scheme and role players for the team to adjust to in game. Tennessee had 8 games prior to their meeting Georgia along with an INTACT Staff and players familiar with the program schemes. Dan Lanning and Crew have continued to make huge strides with the offense, the defense has not broke yet. DuckFan 76, Oregon's defense needs to get in the face of QB's and tackle much better while limiting yards. While they keep the scores down, if we meet a solid defense, our defense will need to be solid also. Relying on the offense to outscore the opponents was what hurt Chip and Helf. Auburn proved that refs can affect the outcome of games and Ohio proved defense kills offenses. Georgia and Ohio St have great defenses.
  12. I think you EARN that privilege. When he got in there, I was actually saddened that he appeared out of place, non caring about being in. These are OUR DUCKS. If you do not want to be there, sit on the sidelines and hold the clipboard.
  13. He does not look happy. But I sure am, thanks Coach Lanning for coming to Oregon. Go Ducks!
  14. I love that Picture of Chip and Neuheisel's son watching their opportunities slowly fading away. That seven plus minute drive, is like two and a half possessions for Ucla. This right here, is so important, it represents 19 lost points. And I have been upset about, how many points the Defense has been giving up. WoW! Thanks DNC, for pointing that out. Sometimes we miss these important details.
  15. He brought excitement to Oregon, in a fast manner. He showed that you can change the game by keeping defenses on their toes. That well disciplined players can defeat elite players and teams. Sadly, this is not the same Chip Kelly that coached at Oregon. Nor does he have the same type of staff, he had at Oregon. Chip lost that lightning in the bottle he had while at Oregon.
  16. You have to trust a kids word and honor choices they make. Life is about making decisions, we wont like a lot but the ones that come freely are the most committed ones. Character matters.
  17. I watched Chips Post game interview after the win against Utah. Dan Lanning is the perfect coach for the Ducks. I did not realize how snarky Chip came off as to some. I felt a little uncomfortable listening to him rather than be above some of the media. Lanning reps his team, coaches and players well, something to aspire to moving forward. While it will be nice to see Chip bring his Bruins to Eugene, I hope he returns to LA with a little regret of what could have been. And may the DUCKS keep giving him a repeat performance for a LONG TIME.
  18. I felt for sure that WSU, was a team that had the players and scheme to beat USC at home. It just shows you that it is very hard to have everything in perfect alignment to succeed. Trying to keep players and coaches at their best is difficult for most but the big stages make that pressure so much more evident. Even with the WSU loss, they played better than their opponents level. Credit where credit is due, USC was ready to play and held the WSU passing attack while stressing the Cougs Defense. WSU, you still have games to win and I believe you will have no problem becoming bowl eligible.
  19. I think you see a side that Chip doesn't have that Dan Lanning does, delegates authority. Manages the media well, educators, craftsman and mentors. Teach, build and show them. They all, have some time to rise. I am ok with that, just don't give up, takes work, effort and commitment.
  20. Chip is a very good coach. He raised the bar while in Eugene. Went to the NFL, Philly had success but not like at Oregon. Oregon was stacked with teachers that developed. He has not had that since he left the Ducks. This year, like last year, he has got a good group of players. I just do not think he has the depth, like the ducks have. Oregon, has some teachers, are they as good as the ones that helped Chip? This Head Coach is better than Chip. He is the CEO, Chip never has been. I believe we will find that out, this year.
  21. No Worries, recent research has him on the hot seat at FAU. It would appear Lane raised the Bar and set maybe too high of expectations there. Maybe this will be the year Willies and Jimbo's agent get both his people canned at the same time? Not likely with Fisher and his $90 Mill guaranteed contract issue at Texas A&M but Miami paid out to Mario, world still seems a lil crazy.
  22. After it has been splattered across a hard surface! Oh my, I am getting nervous now. . . Not a good sign. Never Mind, this happened in England! Before Frost got there. You know, Six Degrees of Scott Frost, hold on, what's that honey? You sure? Ok. NVM about Frost, it's Kevin Bacon. . . but you get where I am going with this, don't you?
  23. I hope BO just has that Build that can take those hits, man been a couple, I HURT FOR HIM. Masoli on the other hand was like a tank, think he put the hurt on some poor DB when he dropped his shoulder on one play against the Beaver's. OUCH! Just do not want BO, being carted off when he is just getting into his stride. A lot still left to do.
  24. BO, cross into Ducks of the Past, connect, feel, your inner Jeremiah Masoli, then TRUCK SOME CATS! It WILL get that bad uniform taste OUT of your mouth! GO DUCKS!
