Another Oregon Kid as a Preferred Walk-On Joins the Ducks
DanLduck replied to FamilyofDucks's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I love all these solid 3☆ PWO the Ducks are bringing in. That's like 6 or 7 now. These guys have the desire and can be counted on to really work hard in practice, which will push others to keep working hard. We got us some smart coaches. -
Oregon Football: Culture Cannot Be Just a Buzzword
DanLduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I know nothing of the encouraging part. I was thinking about the idea of family including all, and how family comes first. That we do all together because success is experienced by all, as all contribute. That love of family and responsibility for family encourages a giving of all you got. -
Oregon Football: Culture Cannot Be Just a Buzzword
DanLduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Instead of "culture", I wish they would use the Polynesian word, Ohana. What we mean by culture is work ethic, team support and encouragement, obeying coaches, believing in the game plan, believing in each other, and living off the field in a manner that is respectful of the logo on the jersey. What better word than ohana, family. Reaching deep to give a little more for your brother next to you, what better culture is there! -
Oregon Keeps Another In State Player: WR Cole Prusia
DanLduck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It is very impressive to me the number of preferred walk-ons the coaches are bringing in. And from all over, Tenn., CA, GA, and in state. They are wanting to play for these coaches. Nice. Very nice. -
Have we ever had a year without injury to Olinemen? If he is this highly rated he will play and start when there is injury.

Oregon OL, Jaylan Jeffers Decides to Transfer

Maybe he did know! -
Oregon OL, Jaylan Jeffers Decides to Transfer
DanLduck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I wish this meant he knew Conerly was coming aboard! -
Barring injuries, I think WSU is the team to beat in the north. They have an experienced qb with the same new OC, and last year they were surprisingly good. I would rather lose to BYU than the Cougs. USC has too many new pieces. UCLA will finally have a good year and beat them. Utah wins the south. Oregon maybe gets 9 wins... and we better beat the Rodents!

I too would be willing to have a small part in a collective. It is the future. Post any info please.

Does Oregon Need to Have An SEC Mindset?
DanLduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Us "left coasters" can't understand the mentality of the south when it comes to football. Unless we've been there, lived there...can't grasp it. Filling up a stadium is the single most important metric of 'fan'aticism. We don't have it out west unless the team is winning. That said, fans don't play the game. But fans let their kids play football, and that leads to their development into blue-chip studs who play close to home, cuz, it just might mean more. Dillingham's comment has merit, but having such an immense recruiting backyard is certainly a key element. As others have so accurately pointed out, too many blue-chippers have headed east from out west. If U$C and Oregon can slow that tide, it will benefit most of the Pac12 because I think it will encourage more players to stay here (in the west). The $$ usc spent shows they want to be serious, finally. Will see if it pays off, or more importantly, rubs off on fellow conference mates. -
That is really amazing! I wonder how many offers he already has?

The Classic: The Most Beautiful Oregon Uniform...
DanLduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ah, racing stripes. Loved 'em. Still do. A very classic line. I had 'em everywhere: on my car, my rugby shirt, my denim cut-offs, even drew them on my Chuck Taylor's so I could run faster! Good choice Mr. FishDuck. I do enjoy our current arrangement of finding out on Thurs or Fri what uniforms they will be wearing. And I enjoy almost all the choices ( not pink and not orange socks!) but it's called a classic for a reason. -
I don't think this is a good sign. He was a valued part of this team...why transfer? The portal is not a good thing.

Too Much Negative: The End is NOT Near for Oregon Football
DanLduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Good point FishDuck. Will do my bestest to comply. The real issue, no football and nothing really to see in spring practice yet. As much as I like football, I dislike speculation and guessing. But onward and upward. Let's go Duckfriends! See you on the 23rd! -
OSU to Create an Enhanced Fan Experience at Reser Stadium
DanLduck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
An "enhanced fan experience "?? Like maybe win a few home games!!! -
We should refer to that Texas school as ATM!!

It is Not Just the Spring Game....it is DUCK DAY!
DanLduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think Pac12 is broadcasting the UCLA spring game that day? -
I don't see him mentioning NIL at all. His logic is sound for his decision making, he would be learning a new offense anyway... ...but this is hard when he was such a popular player. I guess it's something we better get used to, players will come and go and we will have a new roster every year. TD gave us all he had when here, I have to not be selfish and wish him the best for his future and family. Thanks for sharing article. Also, if we are to accept transfers in as part of the family (see dudes from UW, Auburn, etc) then we have to be gracious if we lose some, at least in my humble opinion.

Nice thought, but no thank you. Too much risk of injury for meaningless game. Spring is already so limited as to time spent with coaches, learning the offense or defense, learning to play as a team. How would paying a team to play us, make $$ for the program? The canned food drive is also an important part of community relations. I do like it when it's team 1 against team 2 and not offense vs defense.

Pictures: Oregon vs USC on Comeback-Sunday
DanLduck replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thanks for the pics. Sure is a good looking stadium. -
I agree with the 2010 team with one caveat, that 2014 team lost 10 or more starters to injury that year on both sides of the ball and still managed to make it to the final. Had we been more healthy...
-
Apparently that was his first number on his first team...who were called the Falcons!
-
I'm going with Ty. He has really beefed up.

I'm taking this as a good omen for our Ducks this year as we open the season in Atlanta. Maybe MM8 will be on the sideline and bring some good Hawaiian ju-ju. I'm glad to see him get another shot. I think the head coach was his OC in Tennessee one year. That was his best year there. Sure hope he does well...they need some better receivers. And stays healthy!

Lanning Love: “Football is Fun Again!”
DanLduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
"Internal BS alert". Love it, and so true! It is awesome to hear players are buying in to the coach. Winning over upperclassmen is key also. They are the team leaders. Thanks Charles, this made my weekend. Looking forward to the 23rd. Can't wait!
