  1. You won’t find a TTU alum or fan from the Mike Leach era who believes anything Adam James or Craig James had to say about the “abuse” Adam apparently suffered. It’s a well known fact that he manipulated the entire story and TTU chancellor Kent Hance fired Leach because he wouldn’t write an apology letter. I would challenge anyone to read the emails from Adam James’s former coaches describing his character and work ethic. He even admitted in his own deposition that the trainer took him to the media room and said “stay here”. However, since the trainer was standing near the door of the electrical room, Adam said he “thought that’s where the trainer wanted him to stay”. He then proceeded to take a dramatic video of the room with his cell phone. The kid is a slimeball. He tried to ruin a coach’s career because he didn’t like being disciplined and he thought he wasn’t seeing the field enough. He got booed every time he touched the ball and was heavily booed by his own fans on Senior Day. The only person with less credibility is his father. The guy who said he received only “insignificant” benefits when he played for SMU basically laying the blame on Dickerson and his other former teammates for the teams demise. ESPN did themselves and the college football world a huge favor by washing their hands of that guy. Adam James is the kind of kid who was born on third base, but thinks he hit a triple. To this day he runs a company that his daddy started for him. He calls himself the co-founder, though. He’s still full of BS. Mike Leach, on the other hand, will be inducted into the TTU Hall of Honor this month when they host Houston. I doubt the university would do such a thing if they really believed he abused his players. I believe it’s their way of apologizing to his family.
  2. The link has a paywall, so I can’t read it. However, My alma mater is a D2 school and they’ve had Australian punters the last 10 years or so. All from Prokick Australia which I assume is what the article is about.
  3. I think Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan will always have great offenses. I also expect Wisconsin and Nebraska to improve once Fickell and Ruhle get a few recruiting classes under their belts. All it takes is a great QB and a few playmakers. Look at what Russell Wilson did for a Brett Bielema coached team. Their offense put up some big numbers.
  4. Here’s my philosophy: When I pull my starters, I consider it a 0-0 game. This means my back-ups are going to try and score every time they get the ball.
  5. I wonder how much of DL’s defensive scheme was shown during this game. The defense looked pretty vanilla on the first couple of drives.
  6. If Oregon and Colorado are undefeated and ranked going into week 4 then we might have a shot at beating out Clemson/FSU for College Gameday. I’ll be pulling for LSU tonight, but I’m not sure FSU drops very far if they lose. I know ESPN will want to jump on the popularity of the “Coach Prime” storyline, so that may work in our favor. However, USC will be in Boulder the following week, so they may wait. Their only competition for Gameday in week 5 is LSU at Ole Miss.
  7. Cue the Colorado national championship talk from ESPN.
  8. Sheduer is the front runner for the Heisman right now. He threw for over 500 yards against the #17 team in the nation.
  9. I was at the 2012 Arkansas State game. This is very similar. Hopefully, Ty plays better than Bennett did in the 2nd half.
  10. I got the sports package with Sling. PAC 12 is included.
  11. CU brought in a ton of talent. I think they’ll be a lot better once they play together more.
  12. Kevin Mar and his crew are surprisingly not screwing up the TCU Colorado game. I just remember him hosing the Ducks on a few occasions. Especially the 2019 WSU game. I guess you automatically improve once you cease being a Pac 12 ref.
  13. Ducks 45-13 2 3 263 I think Oregon establishes the run game and the running clock will not make for an offensive onslaught. I also thing that they get 14 points off of the turnovers with a short field.
  14. After downloading Sling I called and gave Spectrum the Lex Grossman treatment. Both companies are to blame, but Disney holds all the cards because they own most of the content, so I can’t really drop them.
  15. I think a Southerner would be shocked at the size of Martin Stadium in Pullman. It’s like a high school stadium, but with a huge press box. Judging from the amount of fans Tennessee brought to Eugene, visiting fans from the SEC would probably fill 60-70% of that place by themselves. Getting to Pullman isn’t bad. I drove there from Spokane for the Duck game in 2014. They have students/fans set up on the side of the highway waving huge WSU flags every 5-10 miles or so. Getting out of Pullman after the game is another story. There aren’t many avenues to get out of town and every highway is only 2 lanes. It took us 3-4 hours to get back to Spokane after the game. Bad game day traffic is probably commonplace in the SEC because of the size of the stadiums. I’ve only been to Williams-Brice, but they open all lanes for travel in one direction to get to the freeway. Autzen is pretty easy. I always parked at the Masonic Lodge and traffic was usually cleared out in an hour.
  16. Great! We get to watch Mario soil his bead sheets against Stanford while coaching a different team.
  17. I have Spectrum as well. I signed up for Sling TV with their sports package and will be cutting the cord this weekend. It’s half the price of my cable bill.
  18. I hope you guys didn’t get too much damage. Please give an update when possible. I live in NC, so we got a lot of rain, but the wind was minimal. No real damage in my area.
  19. Judging from this article from earlier this year, the paranoia is well founded. DL has probably experienced some unconventional cheating methods from his past few jobs. Inside the sideline paranoia of a college football coach - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM College football coaches will do anything to protect their plays and believe everyone is out to get them: from ball boys to the chain gang to fans in the stands.
  20. Coaching Against Prime 101: 1. Put in 3rd stringer 2. Have 3rd stringer start a fight 3. Watch 3rd stringer take a beating in full pads 4. Watch opposing team’s starters get ejected 5. Beat opposing team’s back-ups mercilessly
  21. This is an interesting concept. The University of South Carolina is teaming up with Iron Hands Brewing to make a beer that will help fund NIL. I’ll be down there in October for the Florida game. I’m sure one of these will find its way to my lips. I know Oregon has Nike, but I think something like this has legs if it lines up with state ABC laws. Garnet Trust announces new Gamecock beer to benefit NIL - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Garnet Trust, the Official NIL partner of South Carolina Athletics, have teamed up with Steel Hands Brewing to create a beer to benefit NIL.
  22. The New Belgium Brewery in Asheville, NC has collaborated with NCSU to make a team beer. Part of the proceeds go to the school’s brewing and fermentation department. The R&D Brewing Company has also teamed up with a couple of different local universities. Aside from App State’s Mountain Brew most of these are under 5% ABV. They say it’s to promote responsible drinking, but we all know they’re just trying to sell a lot of cans.
  23. This is terrible news. I heard rumors last night on X, but now The Oregonian has reported it. He apparently drowned in the Clackamas River. Portland man, 44, drowns in Clackamas River at Riverside Park WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Herman Ryan Hoching jumped from a cement water intake structure in the middle of the...
  24. They were probably a giddy about future CW’s in their new stadium. I’m sure they thought it was going to be louder than Autzen. Now it’s going to sit half filled during their epic border clashes with Boise, WSU and Nevada.
  25. Sometimes teams get the right coach with the right players at the right time. That’s what happened to WSU and OSU. However, both coaches only stuck around for a couple of years afterward and left for what they thought were greener pastures. Erickson got fired by the Seahawks and Price’s Bama story doesn’t need explaining. Neither of these coaches really moved the needle in college football afterward. The Beavers hired a great coach (IMHO) afterward and came close to the Rose Bowl a couple of times, but they were thwarted in dramatic fashion both times in their final Pac 10 game. They haven’t really been good since 2009 not counting last season. WSU had one more good year under Doba with Price’s players, but he was terrible from then on. Leach was a great hire for them, but he could never with the division. Good programs maintain some sort of success after going through coaching changes which I think is the product of a good administration. A bad AD can bury a football program for years due to bad hiring/firing decisions. Oregon has won the PAC with 4 different coaches since Rich Brooks left, so somebody is doing something right. The detractors will say it’s Uncle Phil’s $$$, but that hasn’t kept the coaches from leaving.
