  1. It would kill Olympic sports at most colleges as the revenue used to pay for them gets redirected to the football players. Those players will have to explain to their softball, track, soccer, and volleyball girlfriends …as those girls move out.
  2. But sure feels the PAC has leverage over the Big12. Yes a full ~24 team merger was declined, and Big12 reported that first. But perhaps to try and show strength it does not have. They may not want the full Pac (sorry Beavs), but the rest besides Arizona basically outdraws the current Big12 in average TV viewership since 2015. PAC can choose to wait and/or be selective on just top when Big12 realizes it is further behind. Sourced from Mandel: Pac-12's TV numbers indicate its future might not be so dire THEATHLETIC.COM Television numbers indicate the Pac-12 isn't necessarily in a weaker position than the Big 12.
  3. There are many games of chicken going on, some outside the circle and some within. I currently agree with the sentiment that Oregon has the most options of the PAC, and knows it can wait. “Sources” saying over the weekend that the 4 Corner schools applied to Big12 is another game of chicken to force UO (and likely UW) to sign on now and long term, to not allow the potential B1G decisions either when Notre Dame decides or in 2024. They are trying to imply UO is left with the Pac6 and thus likely Mountain West mergers. But, coupled with the knowledge that the Big12 is not interested in a mass merger with PAC due to the $ not panning out and the measly TV viewership of those 4 Corner schools, it is an easy call of their bluff. In Pac12 TV viewership ratings the last 5 years: Zona, ASU, Colorado, and Utah were rated 11, 9, 8, 7. And Big12 will get the Salt Lake Market anyway when BYU joins. No way they just accept those 4 schools without UO. The $ math does not work. So, UO and UW can play the card that the 2 prior commishes ignored…fair share (unequal) of the worth brought to the conference. It’s why USC and UCLA left and the other PAC schools cannot ignore it. if UO gets the cut they want at low contract year length, great. If not, wait for other options whether it is B1G or other…
  4. Not to worry. I was just at a charity event and talked to who I think is the top recruiting analyst in the country. He said Jurrion is lock solid a Duck, and knows that based on friendships from the inner circle, and that he loves the kid’s talent.
  5. USC has got to be pushing their new B1G brothers to do anything but add Oregon since we own them
  6. And if healthy, it may be Flowe>Noah
  7. Ducks now in virtual tie for 5th on average recruit rating (247 composite) with USuC only Norte Dame, tOSU, Georgia, Bama ahead. And bet is more five stars on the way to UO with this domino. 8 of 11 current commits are 4/5 stars. More coming
  8. Yep. Rankings based on volume right now are meaningless. Even Duke is rated higher simply because they have 22 commits, yet zero are 4/5 stars, and 4 are 2 stars. Average star rating puts UW in the 40s, with UO 15.
  9. ^ I am thinking similar now as a decent viable route. Still believe Plan A is join ND in the B1G. But (and this goes for USC as well), what are the better odds to CFP? Fight through B1G schedule with the travel and huge away stadiums, or put up gaudy #s and more conf titles in a lesser conference aka Clemson and Oklahoma. Both used this path very well. I think this is where USC’s move can backfire. They have not been relevant lately (1 Pac12 title in last 13 seasons and ZERO CFP appearances). Sure the tv $ can pad NIL offers for recruits, but not seeing them rise toward top of B1G. Then despite NIL $, how do they convince recruits that they can win big there if are an avg 7-9 win team AND have to spend half their time traveling Far East to play in the freezing/windy conditions of Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois. I would see some studs deciding to truly stay on west coast and play at 10-11 win on average Oregon team, that got more sniffs at CFP. This may be the mold until 2036 when ACC can be demolished after their current contracts expire if ND waits a few more years to pull the B1G trigger. Then Oregon expands out. Which also says to me don’t pull the B12 move. Ever.
  10. That is a fake account. Check the name “Trollsby” lol. Also consider the time stamp. Would not make sense.
  11. I’d bet my NIL money that ND turns down B1G
  12. Let’s hope B1G saying no (right now) to the UO/UW package deal, is that they don’t want the package if ND says yes. That UO is who they would take to pair with ND.
  13. ^ Exactly. If that were the case they would have said yes to UO/UW already. I now sense we are are B1G’s fall back plan if the SEC does a numbers grab.
  14. Yep. It feels for Oregon that Plan A is go for Big10, Plan B a mega merger with key Big12 and PAC, maybe some ACC. Worst case if those fall thru and we are left out of the big boy table, will be as the big fish in the small remaining pond, with a need to run the table to get into playoffs.
  15. Oregon must leave. Whatever remains of PAC and the type of schools that would actually accept a transfer in, will make this a Mountain West “Coast” mid major. No way should Oregon stay with our resources, value, and expectations. We want Playoffs not the Potato Bowl. This is going to crater PAC bowl alliances. Oregon is actually in a good spot as a free agent with its National wide fan base, marketing, value.
  16. That is a possibility. Good thought. I hope it is vs needing to go to Big12. But I have my doubts.
  17. The Big10 ship seems to have sailed. They would have approached others to come with the LA schools already. To me going to Big12 makes most sense. Yes the “Acc” alliance but travel and fan bases are too far apart. Definitely have to leave the PAC now , otherwise recruiting and brand will label as mid major. And I don’t want to aspire to win the Independence bowl, like we were ok with 3 decades ago.
  18. It feels to me that the puppies have already forced themselves into locking up a 3 star average class with that big volume of 3s. Yawn. Even purple shades Softie worried about that on his show today.
  19. I have a direct acquaintance that was associated with that team and game. It was clear to many witnesses the N word was used. It was also clear Coach Peterson and Boise St officials knew it and refused to significantly address, punish, or publicly acknowledge it. Chip and UO suspended LGB for the rest of the regular season for swinging. Peterson and Boise did nothing to the racist. UW knew all of this when they hired Peterson. Try to win at all costs much? Chip thought Peterson was going to do the right thing, so felt it was not on him to share what actually caused this. Clearly, trusting Peterson’s morals was a rookie mistake.
  20. Video summary of each Pritchard highlight last night.
  21. It says Nix is QB1
