  1. Here is a spreadsheet I created for the most talked about colleges rumored to be on the list to join the Pac 12. San Diego State doesn't have the best TV numbers, but I have a feeling if they joined the Pac 12, those would jump because they did join the Pac 12. They have the highest alumni base and 2nd best TV market size. They have the largest undergraduate population. College Undergrad Stadium Capacity city size/Metro TV Market size TV numbers 2015-19 TV numbers 2021 Fan Base Alumni SDST 33778 35000 1.4mil/3.3mil (27) 63K 198K 0.61 Mil 300000 UNLV 25869 36,800-40K 661K/2.8mil (40) 55K 34K 0.2 Mil 140067 Fresno St. 21776 40727 546K/786K (55) 127K 45K 0.82 Mil 300000 Boise St. 22433 36387 241K/462K (101) 476K 657K 0.89 Mil 80000 SMU 6908 32000 1.29mil/6.48mil (5) 232K 164K 0.19 Mil 114000 I pulled fanbase from here: Fanbase_Sizes-DRAFTv1.pdf - Google Drive DRIVE.GOOGLE.COM I pulled the 2015-19 numbers from here: Which college football programs bring in the most TV viewers? | by Zach Miller | Run It Back With Zach | Medium MEDIUM.COM TV viewership isn’t always the best way to measure a college football program’s value. But here’s how each school ranks since 2015. I pulled the TV ratings from 2021 from here: Which college football programs were the most-watched in 2021? | by Zach Miller | Run It Back With Zach | Medium MEDIUM.COM See which teams brought in the most TV viewers during the 2021 regular season.
  2. Washington would likely be ranked if they beat the Beavers, but with both teams at 6-2 and the Beavers already ranked, it would be a better eye test win for the Beavers to keep winning. No P5 undefeated conference champion better be left out. Only 2 maybe 3 more years at 4 teams. I doubt there will be 5 undefeated teams at the end of the season in the next 2 or 3 years.
  3. Fox is only showing 1 game this Sunday and it is the late game. Seattle vs Arizona. CBS has 2 games. Bills vs Jets and then Rams vs Tampa Bay. 506 Sports - NFL Maps: Week 9, 2022 506SPORTS.COM
  4. Gold: What first CFP rankings mean for Pac-12 path ahead SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM The Pac-12 has a narrow path toward a College Football Playoffs berth, but about 10 things would have to break its way. Don't count on it.
  5. Picking the Pac – College Wire staff makes Week 10 selections DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The College Wire staff continues to Pick the Pac and the standings are getting tighter and tighter.
  6. Winning a game does need to mean something, but Tulane's win over KSU doesn't mean Tulane has to be ranked over KSU. Final score was 17-10. Especially, in a 1 score game. That is Tulane's only win over a P5 team. KSU has 5 wins over P5 teams. Tulane lost to Southern Miss. Head to head really only works when both teams are in the same conference and even then, the winner isn't always considered the better team. Did Stanford deserve to be ranked over Oregon last year? Did Oregon deserve to be ranked ahead of tOSU at the end of the season? It isn't always easy to say if team A beat team B, then team A has to be ranked higher.
  7. Yep, need to root for the team to give the Ducks the best strength of schedule. OSU is ranked and UW is not, go Beavers.
  8. Here is the TV map for NFL football this week. 506 Sports - NFL Maps: Week 9, 2022 506SPORTS.COM
  9. I was listening to Canzano on the radio the other day talking to a former Fox Sports TV contract guy and he said the only way the Pac 12 surpasses the B1G TEN is getting a 2nd contract in before the B1G TEN. It would only be for 1 year the Pac 12 passes the B1G TEN. Once the B1G TEN signs their new contract, then the Pac 12 would fall behind again.
  10. Oregon Football: Ducks’ QB Bo Nix named semifinalist for Maxwell Award DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Bo Nix is one of 20 finalists for the Maxwell Award, and one of 5 Pac-12 players to make the cut for the prestigious award.
  11. Deion would be interesting. He appears to be a good HC, but that is at FCS level. He has recruited more than a handful of top tier division 1 talent. In the 2021 class Jackson State had five 4 stars and three 3 stars. He also had 11 transfers from P5 schools and another 7 from G5 schools. When you have better players, you tend to win more games. I have no idea if that transfers to the Division 1 level where you aren't going to have better players. I feel it is easy to attract FCS players with his fame, but I'm not sure that would happen at the FBS level. I do know he would be entertaining off the field.
  12. As mentioned several times, the transfer portal isn't open until after bowl games, so how is he entering it now? I hope Seven the best. However, I also hope the team doesn't allow him to be anywhere team facilities. He can go use the gym where all the other nonathlete students.
  13. Way too much football to play. No power 5 12-1 conference champion has missed the CFP, except tOSU in 2018. See what I did there with the Big 12 in 2014? Neither team was 12-1, TCU and Baylor were both 11-1. tOSU lost to 6-6 @ Purdue 49-20 and missed out to Oklahoma who lost to 9-3 Texas @ Texas 45-48. Then came back and beat them 39-27 in the Big 12 championship game. CFP says they will hold up conference championships, so if that is to remain true, Michigan/tOSU winner, Tennesse/UGA winner, Clemson and TCU are all in the CFP. Once, there are not 4 undefeated P5 champions, then it starts to get murky.
  14. I'm a curmudgeon. These schools typically say how they don't like violence, yet when one of their players are violent, they do next to nothing. There were more than 4 MSU players stomping on the Michigan player. Only 4 are currently suspended? I have a feeling the 4 players will be suspended a few games and then have other in-house punishment. I know MSU says they are still reviewing, but I feel like they won't add additional players to the suspension. It won't happened, but I'd also make sure the police charge them with assault and battery. I'm tired of the saying boys will be boys.... As mentioned before, how is that both teams use the same tunnel? That is just dumb.
  15. If a school hasn't won a championship, we all tend to think they never will. However, it isn't like UGA is winning titles left and right. They won a championship in 1980. You might remember they had a guy name Hershel Walker on that team. Then they won their 2nd title last year. It was just last year, everybody was talking how UGA can't win a title. A whole lot of things need to go right to win a title. Are the top end teams in the SEC extremely good, absolutely. However, when the majority of the SEC get half of their season win total from playing non-conference games against Miami OH, Youngstown St., N. Illinois, Charlotte, SC State and Georgia States of the world, don't color me impressed. Mississippi St. and Arkansas miss 3 out of the top 4 teams in the SEC East. They have too many teams in the conference and play too few conference games. I have said it before, it is only going to get worse for both SEC and B1G TEN when they go to 16 teams. ACC the same with 15 teams and 8 conference games. There is nowhere to hide in the Pac 12 and Big 12.

  17. Oregon Football: QB Bo Nix splits with Kenny Dillingham and without DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Is Bo Nix’s career year due to the reunion with Kenny Dillingham? We looked at his splits with and without the OC to try and find out.
  18. I feel it biased as a little as well, but when the Pac 12 champion went 12-1, they made the playoffs both times. I have felt the CFP has done a great job picking the 4 teams. It just happens the SEC have had multiple teams only lose 1 game. The media and talking heads don't mention it, but when you have 14 teams and only play 8 conference games it is very easy to have 2 teams go undefeated in conference play and another 2 teams only have 1 loss. When the B1G and SEC go to 16 teams, it will make it even worse. They will have a perceived strength when in reality, they have a schedule quirk. The Big 12 currently make it impossible to have more than 1 undefeated team.
  19. They have mentioned with 12 teams, the top 6 ranked conference champions will get an auto bid. I don't believe a P5 conference champion has ever been ranked below 2 G5 conference champions, so the Pac 12, Big 12 and ACC will never miss out on at least 1 bid. I'm not going to give the SEC and B1G always 3 or 4 teams. Right now the Pac 12 has 3 teams with Oregon #8, USC #10 and UCLA #12. B1G TEN only has #2 and #4 and will not have another top 12 team this year. Big 12 and ACC both have 2 teams in the top 12. Don't forget, there are usually only 1 maybe 2 CFP voters from 1 conference. The rest of the conferences aren't going to just hand over hundreds of millions of dollars to the B1G and SEC.
  20. Oregon Football: Where Oregon defense ranks nationally after UCLA game DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The numbers don’t paint Oregon’s defense as dominant, but the check-mark in the win column is all that matters in the end.
  21. Oregon picked third, Oregon State 12th in Pac-12 men’s basketball preseason media poll WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM UCLA is the heavy favorite to win the Pac-12 championship, though the Bruins were the pick the past two years and failed to win the title
  22. Oregon Football: Where Oregon’s offense ranks after win over UCLA DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Ducks’ offense only continues to get better, and the national rankings are reflecting that.
  23. Why fans of No. 8 Oregon shouldn't float idea of Ducks in CFP WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The No. 8 Oregon Ducks look the part of a potential Pac-12 champion following their 45-30 win over No. 12 UCLA. At 6-1, the Ducks would be among the teams hotly debated in College...
  24. FCS has 24 teams make the playoffs, champions North Dakota State played 16 games. Division 2 has 28 teams make the playoffs, champions Ferris State played 14 games. Division 3 has 32 teams make the playoffs, champions Mary Hardin-Baylor played 15 games. 12 teams is the correct amount because they are throwing the G5 group a bone with giving them an automatic bid. With 8 teams, they aren't only going to give 2 at large teams to P5 schools.
  25. I know 40 million isn't chump change, but I don't want to just survive. I want to thrive. If B1G TEN and SEC essentially are making double the money as everybody else, the ACC, Big 12 and Pac 12 won't really be competing with them in football and basketball for very long. If for some reason it becomes the B1G TEN and SEC in football and basketball, I'm not going to care and won't watch any of those games. Just like I don't want FCS games. I could be in the minority, but if you have apathy in 50% of the country, those conferences will eventually lose TV numbers. In my opinion, it makes sense for the B1G TEN and SEC not to completely leave behind the ACC, Pac 12 or Big 12. Doubling money for eternity will leave everybody behind.
