Will Richardson is Coming Back for Next Season

How great is Dana's approach with his athletes? Expect a lot, support a lot and respect their choices when it is time to move on. Integrity still counts. -

50th anniversary of Title IX and Year 2 of NIL.....how those two can coexist is beyond my pay grade. -
I think some of the Husky love is based on a relatively high roster composite index....or some such metric of overall talent. Many Petersen leftovers still on the squad, plus the 5 star legacy QB who is on travel squad, I think? Add in some respect for DeBoer as the anti-Lake, plus basic Husky delusion (Burton is a Doog, but I agree a good analyst) and there you have it! Interesting WNBA take. I think Jobs' widow, who is rumored to be a potential Blazer buyer, has also tried for a WNBA franchise ownership in the past. Maybe she is willing to throw tons of tech money at the Rose Quarter, like Paul Allen did? If they get Sabrina, I might actually tune into a game or two....unlike the Blazers who, IMHO, should just admit defeat already and trade Lillard too. They always hang onto the single aging ex-All Star too long.

Will Richardson is Coming Back for Next Season
idontrollonshobbas replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This^ I also wanna see him lead in the locker room. Dana said last year was the first that he didn't have to kick someone out of the gym after practice. If Richardson wants to play in the league, that's what it's going to take. -

Upside of Ducks WR Transfer Caleb Chapman

It is amazing how injuries seem to hit certain players more than others. It's like some boxers who have "glass chin" syndrome that they just can't get over. Canton Kaumatule was another one -
Lots of great points in this thread. I am a skeptical optimist....in other words, I wan't to see some improvements before I can confidently predict a conference championship. One unit not mentioned may seem to be a strength, but I wonder: offensive line. Hear me out.... MC and mini-me were supposed to be amongst the nation's best OL coaches. We had highly rated recruits throughout the 2 deep. I was expecting dominance. Instead I saw 2.5 yards and a cloud of dust. I saw QB's scrambling to make plays as protection broke down. Overall, an anemic offense. I suppose scheme could explain all of that. Or, as with most complex systems, the problems were multi-causal. If it is the latter, then OL execution was likely a significant factor. Now....we have a different offense that seems to require much different execution....from the same group. If system changes aren't enough to improve results, then we had better hope that Klemm is a far better coach than the last duo.

Huffing Huskies: 'Washington is NOT Headed Down!'
idontrollonshobbas replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Their negative opinion of Junior Adams stems the from fact that he recruited better players than were on the roster at the time. Or, I should say maybe that he recruited guys that fit his style of play better. A couple of the highly rated WR's who subsequently dropped down the depth chart had parents who started griping to one of Dawgman.com site owners who then made it public on the board, IIRC. When the offense stalled out, some fans started casting aspersions toward Junior and the WR depth chart shuffle as a part of their criticism. That's why you get a comment like the one listed in this thread today that his omission is an improvement. -
If You Could Ask Dan Lanning One Question...
idontrollonshobbas replied to Annie's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
A pool or a pond? Seriously, I would ask him how in the world a head football coach can also manage family life. There is no way in heck that mine would happily not see me 80% of the time. And I am a miserable curmudgeon misanthrope. Dan seems like a great husband and father....amazes me. -
Coach Klemm Going After Some Big Men

UO Athletics Building "The Jake" To Benefit Golf Programs - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM The latest state-of-the-art UO athletics facility will be built on the grounds of Emerald Valley Golf Club, and is named for Peter and Jan Jacobsen. Hadn't seen this before.....very cool building dedicated to one of the best Ducks ever. I was ambling through Atlanta airport sporting colors one day and I hear a booming "Go Ducks" across the terminal...sure enough, Peter Jacobsen. Chatted me up for few minutes then we fist-bumped and went our separate ways. Very chill dude.

Catching Up With All of Oregon's New Players and Recruits
idontrollonshobbas replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I wonder if NIL is available to walk-ons? Now that we have 4 specialists on the roster, presumably 5 with the long snapper, it would make sense to use NIL funds to pay them enough to remain walk-ons, freeing up those 5 schollies for other players. If allowed....presuming someone is actually enforcing any kind of rules at all. -
Yikes. Some Player Insight Into Cristobal...
idontrollonshobbas replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
In every era there are teams that are disciplined, and teams that are less so. I don't deny that today's world is self-obsessed (excuse me, brand-focused) and that makes the challenge harder, but some teams and coaches manage this aspect of culture better than others over the course of a season. Mario's teams weren't the most undisciplined I have seen at Oregon, but they were far from the least. As Bellotti often said, better errors of commission than errors of omission -
Yikes. Some Player Insight Into Cristobal...

Funny.....Cristobal's reaction to Hutson is identical to my man cave armchair rant to CRISTOBAL about not coaching THE TEAM to avoid those types of infractions. -
