McDuck No. 1 Share Posted January 19 According to Football Scoop another OC candidate has turned Mario down. I read somewhere this is the third time Mario has heard "no thanks" in his search. Has Joe Moorhead been talking? Charles Fischer Administrator No. 6 Share Posted January 19 This would have to be THE WORST offensive coordinator position in the nation. You will look bad, and the fans will boo you. Then YOU, not the head coach will get blamed? He will be now looking for a stooge who has nothing to lose. 1 6 Quote Mr. FishDuck

SoCalDuck No. 9 Share Posted January 19 (edited) Jimmy "The Academician" is with Sark the Shark at Texas now. I don't know if Super Mario likes him enough to throw more money at him. Edited January 19 by SoCalDuck
Jon Joseph No. 10 Share Posted January 19 Holy Toledo! That is one huge 'In-Your-Face!' If he's still alive, maybe Mario can hire the OC for the Green Bay Packers under Vince Lombardi? 1

Vandownbytheriverduck No. 12 Share Posted January 19 Mario reduced the output of one of the strongest offenses college football has ever seen. He has made multiple on field coaching blunders including the mostly reactionary timeouts, including first down on the first play of the second half. He has gone through two coordinators with previously high scoring offenses Why on earth would anyone want to coach offense for an authoritarian who has a bad track record and proven inability to coach in game. He is a potential career wrecker. Add in his ignoble departure pointing to a lack of loyalty or integrity and voila, coach cancer.

Charles Fischer Administrator No. 16 Share Posted January 19 Omigosh....Mario offered Kendal Briles of Arkansas yesterday, and Briles is better for it! David Marsh No. 17 Share Posted January 19 I think this is a glimpse into what the OC search may have looked like for us if Cristobal had stayed at Oregon. I am pretty sure we would be hand ringing and questioning whether Cristobal deserved the bump in pay. I think we are all going to be thankful he left when he did and got Oregon paid in the process from Miami paying the buyout. 7

The fact they are "ex" on both sides of the aisle indicates they have the smarts to "know when to fold them." I think Mario is going to need an idiot to take the job or someone desperate. Duck1984 No. 21 Share Posted January 19 (edited) OC candidate: What is your vision for the Miami offense Mario? Don't undersell it... 3 yards.. two yards after contact. And usually tackled from behind too from those pistol plunges.
John Charles No. 25 Share Posted January 19 OC Job Interview: MC: You have a 1 point lead with just a few seconds to burn to win the game. You are on your own 2-yard line. The only way you possibly lose the game is to hike the ball into the end zone and get tackled for a safety. Do you: A. Line up under center to minimize the risk of a safety B. Line the quarterback up in the shotgun formation and hike the ball into the end-zone OC Candidate: Obviously the answer is B. You line up in the shot gun, preferably the pistol formation, because that is who we are. It's our identity. MC: Hired! When can you start?
